2. Yeah, I meant to have a punt on that Ash, when it was out at £599 start. Then I forgot this morning He was given it as a gift apparently. Think he should do the same for me
 3. Bugger! Er sorry, well done that man.
 4.
You would have had some overhang with that though Karl
For that, I would have happily done my MB'S the normal way. And probably bought a third Jeez, I MUST stop looking at this
 5. Lloyd, go to your 1st post. Click on edit. Click on "use full editor" Go to your actual title (FS/FT Ampeg SVT3............................) and make the changes you want in there. I do that to change messages, you will see my SEI now starts "on hold" Sorry about Phoenix mate, but you won't be out long. Top bloke peeps, deal with confidence. Karl.
 6. Bollocks, why didn't this come up two weeks ago ie before I bought the PUMA. These things look absolutely amazing GLWTS
 7.
+2 They are fabulous, great customer service too.
+ another one. Rothko and Frost
 8. Right, so if it's cocco's jazz necked Bob Glaub, I will be waiting for Tim's next burst of GAS
 9. Glasgow hit man (from THAT bar), £500 plus train fair. Check. Flowers for service £50. Check. Fuel for pick up £80. Check. My medication for slightly losing it in the face of a Dusty £15 Check. Jealous, moi? Fabulous trio.
 10.
We used to have a guitarist who like to tell us the money didn't matter because he was rich. He still expected his share, so I threw him out.
This I like. A lot
 11.
Sorry to quote you but it seems it's a 'house band' with none other than Mr Palladino on the bass. Well it is according to Ticketmaster!
Wowser, Palla! You should know better than to quote me, I only deal in vicious rumours and snide remarks
 12.
I like Fender. Quite a lot actually. I am, however, quite realistic in that I acknowledge they are not the be all and end all of P and J style basses. I don't necessarily agree with this point of view. I did have a slight hiccup with my Geddy Lee CS which was documented, but GAK bent over backwards to assist and in the end it wasn't necessary for me part with it even temporarily. All the CS's I have are astonishly good and I've played a good few to know the difference. Horses for courses really. I understand that price is a factor and a CS may not be within everyone's budget, so they go for an alternative. Completely understandable. For me though, the J and P shape are iconically Fender and if I'm going to buy one it may as well be manufactured by them. I still have yet to find anything even remotely in the ball park of the Dusty Hill CS. P body with a J neck through a single custom wound pick-up. It makes me smile every time I pick it up.
Gimme da Dusty
 13. Actually, don't do it until I've sold my SEI Bump.
 14. Sorry rockinbassman but there ARE people interested in this but, myself included, not without knowing the weight. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SOME OF US OLDER FOLK
 15. Think it's Who's Next, Craig Addecott's band, but don't quote me.
 16.
Cool - ok thanks, understood Didn't fully appreciate the difference in cost. I knew there was some logic behind it, given the support from bassists who seem passionate about nice instruments.
Sorry Dan, I came across as an arrogant tosspot. Which I am I'm just using any tactic to avoid finishing my year end accounts, to stave off the tears a little longer
 17.
Possibly controversial, but my very subjective experience/observation is that there's been a substantial increase in the number of buyers/sellers from outside the UK in recent years. They seem more likely to be selling high-end, exotic, high-priced basses than the more run-of-the-mill MIM Fenders and so on that we used to see on here. Again, extremely subjective, but for me, many of these sellers items are very over-priced and many of the buyers who get in touch are either complete time-wasters who disappear or looking for something for nothing, sometimes to the point of offense. That having been said, where I have bought or sold with guys overseas, the deals have been every bit as smooth as any from the UK. Also, in general, there used to be a kinda unwritten rule that if you bought a bass on here for a great price and decided to sell it on, you would generally sell it on at around the price you paid for it. Now, I see basses being advertised with £100s added to the price they were bought for only weeks before. None of this stops me buying or selling, it's just not as easy to do or, frankly, as nice to do as it used to be.
I'm just wondering if there are different availability issues on the continent. 3 of the last 4 basses I've sold on here have been £1000 plus which are high end used, to me anyway. They have gone to Sweden Germany and Spain and the guys involved were fabulous. Their English was better than mine Some stuff does go on at daft prices but I wonder if this is a knock on from FEEBay prices rocketing due to increased fees? Mind, when you see a used bass on here at £29 cheaper than a new one, then add on the £15 courier, so it's £14 cheaper than a new one with free delivery and full warranty
 18.
MB1. Shirt Supply?? ...Shirt? Where is Shirt?
Well done that man you passed the test Now suitably edited
 19.
Ok. So when you buy a '72 Jazz or whatever, you're buying it for the build / the sound / the heritage etc - the chipped paint and oxidised tuners, is just a by-product. Isn't this like putting a Jaguar e-type bodykit on a Ford Escort, or a fake Rolex? Yes it looks the part, but it just isn't?
Probably is, yup, but, if that's what I choose to spend my gig money on......................... Or put another way, dream bass, after ensuring everything is original, not fake etc, 63 Sea Foam Green Jazz with matching headstock, if one exists, if you can eventually find one, what, £6000 ish? Mark's Limelight, looks the part, plays superbly, puts a smile above my multi chins at every gig, way under £1000 and not afraid to gig it at this weeks Dog and Duck. Horses for courses, don't knock until you've tried
 20. Thanks Martyn, appreciated. If two of your stunning Warwicks were 4 strings............ Anyway, despite a good number of offers and a couple trying to raise funds, doubt this will go as swiftly as my other SEI did. Single cut are marmite and cash is in short supply. This may be a relative bargain but it is still a lot of money. So, further pm's replied. Sound clip was asked for. I don't do that sort of thing, no equipment or knowledge. FORTUNATELY, the man who commissioned the bass, Alex, from the Bass Gallery, does do that sort of thing and has left it in the public domain, so, linky! 21. Our pub gig last Sat was cancelled due to landlord doing a runner. The Saturday before we did 32 numbers, including 4 six or seven minute numbers and 4 encores. Fortunately we have about 60 to choose from currently. The first set was 1 hour 10 mins. The second set was 1 hour 35 minutes. Not up to US standards but I left home just after 6pm on the Saturday night and got home just after 2am Sunday morning. That's quite enough for me thank you. And yes, I have a proper job, well, my own little business.
 22.
And even if you do Limelight will do that for you.
Not anymore they won't. If you want it with Fender on the headstock, I think you have to do your own now..
 23. Might be wrong Alain, but I think Drew from the Great British Bass Lounge may have bought this from the north west Facebook site. He certainly has one up for sale.
 24.
Stunning that Karl, The Back of the bass is a work of art, Lovely workmanship. GLWTS.
Thanks Si, the front ain't too shabby either . I don't know if it always works, but click on the photo, it should go to Photobucket. Just to the top right of the picture you can click on a magnifying glass symbol and it opens up full page photo.
Too bad, I may have been up for that!
My Dragon always said my timing was crap Just been offered (amongst quite a few things) a Mesa BB750 and Vintage Powerhouse cab. My eyes said yes yes yes, my spine said don't even think about it
