1. I've managed to get myself back up to 6 basses, of which 3 are black, black, maple. So Fender American Standard Jazz, made in USA 2005. Weight 9lb 5oz. Condition very good although it does have "certain light swirling" and a couple of tiny dints that I can't photo. Can't see any of that more than a foot away. S1 does make a difference, giving it more P sound, bass plays and sounds great. Apologies for photos but as usual it's raining in Wigan! £700 collected (or meet up within reason) £725 couriered. Embarrassingly long feedback link at bottom of thread. Any trial in Wigan would be great, questions welcome but ultimately it's just a good Fender jazz! Thanks for looking, Karl. 2. Met up with Tom today, to complete a deal. Lovely fella, absolute joy to both deal with and meet up with. An absolute gent who is fully recommended so deal with confidence. Enjoy Tom and thanks for making it all so easy, cheers, Karl.
3. Tom, nut width 1.625" Ash, most reviews put them between 9/9.25lbs Produced in 2011 although odd one still available in 2014 as they were expensive new. Can't see dints, dents etc in the photos but I've only seen one of these that wasn't mollycoddled. Lovely bass and VERY tempting! Mr Elliott, would be good to know if you would courier, as the center of the universe is 200 miles from me
4. Sorry to hear you are unwell Mr. P. Regarding courier, is there none of the Basschat Massive in Cardiff that can pop around for half an hour, help you out? Something like the Hiscox, I'd be just tempted to pull a black bin bag over each end, then tape them in the middle. Sorry, I'm 200 miles away or I'd come and give you a hand. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
5.
You're welcome. That idea sounds interesting. Be sure to post pics
Don't hold your breath, I'm Frank Spencer to both DIY and photography
6.
I don't know which amp stand ghost_bass uses, but I'm currently using a K&M amp stand with my Big Baby II and TC RH450 on top. The stand can handle 35kg so it's no problem at all and I get the best sounding bass monitor on the planet, when I'm playing with a large PA.
Excellent, thanks for that. It actually has go me thinking about a slight variation using a fishing seat box trolley and pipe foam. Ho hum, thinks
7. This is a steal! I'm meeting Tom on Tuesday. IF ANYBODY from the north west or north east wants this cab PAY ATTENTION I can get it to Wigan for any guys in the NW. We can make arrangements from that point. I can get it to the North East, on Saturday 12th March, as I am gigging at Steph's in Consett. On that Saturday I can go up the west as far as Penrith, or alternatively go M62/A1 and meet up along that route. Or you can come down to Consett and collect from there. Please though, I will be on a tight-ish schedule on that Saturday. You will have no courier charge, you won't have to wait in for a courier to chuck it over the fence You will, however, have to sort out paying Tom, I want nowt to do with the loot I had a Schro 410BMF, best cab I've ever had, but circs changed and I had to go smaller. Good luck Tom, cracking cab.
8. Top fella, top amp, great price, you know you want to
9. Lovely! What's the nut width and weight please, for those of us who like that sort of thing
10.
It would be very hard to match a 1x12" cab with your S12T. The drivers on the S12T are Eminence 3012HO and, as far as i know, they only made it in 8ohms version. I lift mine a bit using an amp stand, about 60cm from the floor. I can hear it better and don't miss the floor coupling in "my tone".
Which amp stand do you use please?
11. And me! Single chrome covered pup. Two part bridge. SEA FOAM GREEN
12. Makes sense
13. Yes, be good to clarify things. Doesn't appear (or I couldn't find it) that the ebony board is an option. For right or wrong they certainly seem to have pruned colours back a lot. And some models are simply no more.
14. There is also another thread touching on this in "Gear" Bass Guitars
15. You might want to read the following thread, and in particular some of the links on it http://basschat.co.u...ingray-colours/ Seems for example, the Stingray 5 (new) only comes in half a dozen colours. Not sure if unlined Stealth Fretless is still available. Todays page on the EB website http://www.music-man...sses/stingray-5 Perhaps the low prices 'Rays are currently going for (vs actual new price) may become a thing of the past if you can only get a few colours. Who knows EDIT Stealth Black $200 option still available, as is Pau Ferro lined/unlined fretless
16.
To put this in perspective, these are probably around £1700 + now to order in the UK. I have a similar spec with maple fretboard and it is a beautiful instrument. Honeyburst is now discontinued - not sure why but I think it was another colour that was a little more expensive. HH + tort guard makes it an expensive spec - good luck with the sale!
Looking at another thread, it looks like EB have discontinued all except 6 colours in the Stingray 5 range. So, if this finish is your bag, looks like you won't be able to get a new one. So, buy it now peeps ESPECIALLY at this price!
17. Looks like TecAmp gear is now gone from Europe can't find any PUMA's for sale anywhere. EICH looks great but understandably seem to be a bit higher in price. Dread to think what the TecAmp US stuff will cost by it gets here.
18. Always a pleasure to read Douglas's posts. Wonderful humour and straight as a dye. This was replicated in a very super intercontinental deal, with the added bonus of decisiveness. Absolute pleasure, easy deal, fair few giggles, it doesn't get any better. Thanks for everything Douglas, enjoy and please keep us laughing. Fully recommended folks.
19.
Must resist.........!
No you mustn't. Buy it and I'll collect and deliver it to you . No charge for delivery.
20. Lovely bass again Tom, good luck fella. Surprised it's still here tbh.
21. Splendid bass. Splendid bloke. Excellent price Good luck Ash
22. What an absolute steal!!!! Those Kappalites have a great rep. And they look even better with that vintage cloth! Surprised these have been up for this long
23. Further pm's replied thanks. One more week I think, before putting the other one up.
