2. Cheers. No comments from anyone on my board then? I thought this was a place to post your board and get some comments and advice. Not sure why I took the time to take a picture and post it. I'll delete it as it was obviously too non-descript/dull/sh*t to get a response.
  3.
Another Mini submission................Cheers!
Hi - nice board - and I'm glad you posted - I was beginning to think I'd killed one of the longest-lasting threads on the forum! What does the Musket pedal do?
  4.
I seem to recall that when I was starting out way back in the day, Hartke was a 'must have' piece of kit along the lines of Trace Elliot etc... a piece of gear that you'd aspire to own no less. It's amazing how gear comes in and out of favour and fashion. Suddenly everyone wants Hartke again now that Victor Wooten is an endorsee...
Yep - I seem to remember that Chris Squire used Hartke - so as an impressionable lad in the 80s, it became the amp I had to have.
  5.
Hey all, I'm looking at upgrading in the near future from my marshall Mb4210 to a Barefaced Compact cab and I'm not sure which head. What would make a good combination with this? I have probably about 3-400 max after buying the cab. Cheers, JM
Hiya, you'll probably get a good few replies here. Alex from Barefaced himself might advise you on good combinations, Cheers
  6.
obligatory vt bass suggestion. you might also try to find a cream pie (don't google it!)
Yeah, the VT Bass sprung to mind for me too. Worth trying to give your tone a nice biting edge.
  7.
http://www.sourceaudio.net/videos/post/sou...istortion-demo/ it is very synthy, but mixed/eq'd correctly it sounds amazing in a band set-up. ..the options are almost limitless.
Nice pedal. But that single-band fuzz settling is the least "good old-fashioned American rock music" sound I've ever heard. Sounds like someone torturing an alien wasp-monster.
  8. Sure is - well spotted!
  9. Or this one http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=85852
  10.
Wait a second, I just realised you are from Swindon. Do you play in a band?
Yep, if you search 'moonfest no one knows cover' in YouTube you can hear the band and the multidrive in lo-fi camcorder glory!
  11.
How are these pedals at keeping the low's intact? I have used various overdrive/distortion pedals over the years and a lot of them lose the low end. How does this one fair?
Hi, unlike many distortion pedals, there's no low-end loss to my ears. The standard setting retains all the bass, plus the 'tube' setting adds even more warmth. Tis a monster of a pedal.
  12. This is a great overdrive pedal, but I just don't need it at the moment. £85 posted - payment by BACs transfer preferred. http://www.bass.se/2009/multidrive.htm
  13. I'd recommend the EBS Octabass, it tracks really well, down to G for me (got to be first in my effects chain to do that) and you can blend your normal sound with the effected sound. That's my opinion though, which may not count for much.
  14.
EBS UniChorus With the EBS UniChorus you can choose between low noise studio quality Chorus, Flange and Pitch Modulation effects. Analog Processing The pedal is built with the best analog processing circuitry available. This gives a smoother, warmer and fatter sounding chorus/flange effect, useful both for live and studio performances. The 2008 edition uses true Ibypass techniques. Improvements with the new edition 3 dB higher headroom New analog circuitry with higher dynamics and lower noise. 15.
I've used the LTD Silver and the Tone Press. I don't have either of them any more but was very impressed. I preferred them on guitar rather than bass (especially the tone press) but great pedals nonetheless. David Barber's a great guy to deal with as well.
Despite them being mainly guitar pedals, why did you prefer them on guitar fella? What was about them that wasn't so good on bass?

    Barber

I've just bought a Barber LTD Silver overdrive pedal off Basszilla (top bloke). What a nice pedal. It doesn't rip your head off with death metal distortion, but it's great for a grungy/vintage rock style crunch. It holds the bass well too. Anyone else like/have experience with Barber pedals?
  17.
fitting the car on stage might be a deal breaker.
Thanks, I just spat my lunch over my keyboard.
  18. I've owned a tonehammer but sold it on - did nothing for my sound. Got a sansamp paradriver and much prefer it.
  19.
I quite like the song...despite the cheesiness! But yeah - I'd think some kind of synth with chorus.
The song is gorgonzola, but packed with more happiness than Bonnie Langford ripped to the t*ts on prozac. That bass line is great too. I agree, sounds more synth to me - but could be a blend of bass and synth.
  20. I'm not that impressed with this smug demo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEWgOc_IBM To me, the single band fuzz sounds like a squashed bee. In fact, the whole thing seems a bit over-engineered and not natural sounding enought to my ears.
  21. I know what you mean... I was considering an ehx bass muff... now this comes along...
  22.
If music doesnt work out there is always proof reading
What's wrong with 'whether'?
  23. I use the EBS multicomp, settings on tri-band and knobs at 10 o'clock - so very subtly applied. I don't really use it to control my dynamics, as I think it's already quite uniform - it just adds a nice crispness to the sound.
  24. Not meaning to hijack this thread... but what really got my goat a while back was that people were being lambasted for expressing their opinions on Barefaced cabs, calling it 'hype'. I suspect some of posts were included in that. Apparently, I wasn't allowed to say how much I loved the Big One or that it kicked the poop out of my Ampeg 410 hlf. It all got very humpty. People saying 'stop the hype' and posts from 'honest men' who can't wait to give their 'honest opinions'. Mostly irritable thoughts that might have been better directed at Alex direct. He took a bit of a public kicking and hasn't been seen here much since. And I think the site is worse off for that.
