Analog Processing The pedal is built with the best analog processing circuitry available. This gives a smoother, warmer and fatter sounding chorus/flange effect, useful both for live and studio performances. The 2008 edition uses true Ibypass techniques. Improvements with the new edition 3 dB higher headroom New analog circuitry with higher dynamics and lower noise. 2.
I've used the LTD Silver and the Tone Press. I don't have either of them any more but was very impressed. I preferred them on guitar rather than bass (especially the tone press) but great pedals nonetheless. David Barber's a great guy to deal with as well.
Despite them being mainly guitar pedals, why did you prefer them on guitar fella? What was about them that wasn't so good on bass?

Barber

I've just bought a Barber LTD Silver overdrive pedal off Basszilla (top bloke). What a nice pedal. It doesn't rip your head off with death metal distortion, but it's great for a grungy/vintage rock style crunch. It holds the bass well too. Anyone else like/have experience with Barber pedals?
4.
fitting the car on stage might be a deal breaker.
Thanks, I just spat my lunch over my keyboard.
5. I've owned a tonehammer but sold it on - did nothing for my sound. Got a sansamp paradriver and much prefer it.
6.
I quite like the song...despite the cheesiness! But yeah - I'd think some kind of synth with chorus.
The song is gorgonzola, but packed with more happiness than Bonnie Langford ripped to the t*ts on prozac. That bass line is great too. I agree, sounds more synth to me - but could be a blend of bass and synth.
7. I'm not that impressed with this smug demo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEWgOc_IBM To me, the single band fuzz sounds like a squashed bee. In fact, the whole thing seems a bit over-engineered and not natural sounding enought to my ears.
8. I know what you mean... I was considering an ehx bass muff... now this comes along...

10. I use the EBS multicomp, settings on tri-band and knobs at 10 o'clock - so very subtly applied. I don't really use it to control my dynamics, as I think it's already quite uniform - it just adds a nice crispness to the sound.
11. Not meaning to hijack this thread... but what really got my goat a while back was that people were being lambasted for expressing their opinions on Barefaced cabs, calling it 'hype'. I suspect some of posts were included in that. Apparently, I wasn't allowed to say how much I loved the Big One or that it kicked the poop out of my Ampeg 410 hlf. It all got very humpty. People saying 'stop the hype' and posts from 'honest men' who can't wait to give their 'honest opinions'. Mostly irritable thoughts that might have been better directed at Alex direct. He took a bit of a public kicking and hasn't been seen here much since. And I think the site is worse off for that.
12. PJ Harvey is my soon-to-be cousin-in-law.
13.
did you get it sold ?
Hi, yes - sold now. Cheers.
14. Cheers fellas, I reckon it's a fair price, bearing in mind I bought the bugger two years ago for £850. As PMs have pointed out to me, it's not in the best of nick. But if I sold it for any less, I'd lose a couple of happy sacks. I like to be honest about these things. so I wanted to do a nice deal with fellow bass players. Not here to rip anyone off - which is why I posted pics that show the crack in all it's glory (although I do think they show it up in scary microscopic detail - it doesn't look that bad in the flesh).
15. Had a couple of offers. I know this bass is damaged but I think £500 is a fair price, seeing as good used Sterlings go for £650 to £700. I'm prepared to go down to £450 but no more than that.
16. Replied. Thanks for the trade offers, folks - unfortunately, I need to sell. Cheers, Steve
17. Hi folks, I'm selling my Musicman Sterling. It has a lovely sound and plays like a dream, but I've realised active basses aren't for me. It comes with: * A Hipshot D-Tuner - I've kept the original peg and can refit this if you like. * Bronze strap locks - again, I've kept the originals. * Musicman hard case. About six months ago, I made the mistake of leaning the bass on a chair and running for the phone. It slid onto the floor - and now there's a crack running below the bridge to the backplate - as you can see in the pictures. There's also a bit of a ding. I've never had this happen to a bass before, so I don't know whether it can be fixed or improved. Maybe some of you with experience of repairs might know? So, in view of the condition, I'd like to sell this for £500. If you want me to deliver, I think it will be around £25 extra. Cheers, Steve Some pics - and some more here.

19. Ultimately, the moderators control all and can decide which threads stay or go. Moral perspectives are subjective. But I do get the impression some are going a bit far with trying to show their 'right on' credentials. For me, there's been no harm in any of it. No abuse, porn or debasement. Just a bunch of musicians bantering and indulging in a bit of bawdy humour in an off topic forum. Like a lot of films or tv programmes: if you don't like it, don't watch it.
20. Fancy a quick pluck, baby?
21. Eh? Eh? Don't get many o' them to the pound! Cor!
22. Phwoooarr! Look at the frets on that!
