Thanks so much @Desbass, lovely doing business with you. I bought a few items here in the past, and as I am trying to sell now, let me try to get some more feedback to build up my resume 😁 I got a Source Audio C4 from @pineweasel I got a Source Audio Pro Bass Envelope Filter from @jay-syncro And I got the very Sterling I am trying to sell from @ash Hope some of you can drop a line here, thanks in advance!
-
Very true, just like the fact that the same measurements will feel very different on two basses. The Sterling shortie I am trying to sell has a very similar string height to the Sandberg, and while the Sterling feels very hard to play for me, the Sandberg feels like butter!
-
It's not like I set it to a certain height, I just measure it at the end. Why wouldn't I measure what I have done? To me, not measuring anything that's measurable is like... I don't know, wearing a watch with a dead battery 😁 I might want to reconfigure at some point in the future, and if I don't like it, it will be nice to know where to go back to, without playing back and forth with these fussy bridges until I get that right feel I know already had before...
-
I mostly play fingerstyle as well these days, and yeah this one started at 2.5mm at 12th, I got it down to almost ~2mm. No buzz, even after I straightened the neck a bit, still leaving a very light bow. I prefer even lower action as well (1.6mm - 1.8mm) for soft home playing, but the Sandberg feels so smooth even on ~2mm, I can't even explain it. Consistent tension on all strings and everything, impossible not to love!
-
Augh, I finally managed to decrease the action by almost 0.5mm, while keeping the intonation correct. The bridge config is fussy but not terrible once one understands which of the many screws does what exactly. I feel like a true Sandberg owner now 😁

Good stuff, really love your shortie, was not familiar with this little Jim Deacon prec!

If the new battery gets drained rather quickly, you might have a short that depletes the charge over time. Or a busted capacitor in the electronics. Or some wire/solder joint with a hairline crack. I know you said you don't tinker, but I have a suggestion. Open it up, try to verify visually if nothing is touching together or broken. If you have isopropyl alcohol, spray some gently on the electronics and wipe everything over a few times with a gentle brush. Make sure the alcohol doesn't touch the body/finish, not sure if it can damage it but better be safe. If nothing changes, get it to that tech and let us know what it was! -
Talk about my sensible colour choices 😁 So in theory, is it a breach if you'd pay only for my time but not the parts? Time does not go on the signal chain 😁
-
Send it back! I can make you a ZVEX Mastotron clone for parts prices. That MUST be a smaller breach! 😁

I am not familiar with him, what's his deal?
-
Well the pedalboard is still being configured, but here's the anti-gas bass 😁
-
It's always the keys. How about some actual trend setting? Drum skins on basses to provide ourselves a snare backbeat? Or a fretboard somewhere on a drum?
-
Alright. I got my new bass. I got my new pedals I wanted, a board with case, the power supply needed. I got all the cables and stuff. I even got spare strings and nuts. STARTING NOW, how long can I go on being completely dry? Ideally I'd want to avoid buying anything else at least in 2025. Jusging by this thread, it's much harder than it looks! 😁

This is what got me thinking. He's obviously not bad at all. To me, he's way above the level where even if he doesn't have any musical imagination, he could still string together a lot of technics and building blocks from all the stuff he obviously practiced to death. He could have changed up rythm and stuff just enough that a Laney can't have anything against him. But he choose not to, and thought if someone only got 200 views, none of that 200 people obviously interested in guitar stuff will ever stumble upon his socials campaigns... 😁 this is a very weird level of lazy stupid.

Video: 'When Expensive Music Gear Becomes Obsolete'

Yep, it might work without any issues! Or maybe all old versions of compatible Windows OS will be deprecated by then by some AI-enforcing situation, like they're trying to do now with Win10 VS Win11. Just saying, it's hard to monetise something that works for years to come, and monetisation is king, so... But I am all talk, I just got my C4 Synth 😁 -

I think the real point is, will it work in 2035+ ? Or for example, will some cannibalistic private equity buy up Neural DSP, "cut the trim" by stripping the company of most assets, then toss it to the dump? A very likely scenario in today's tech scene, and if you're a C-level director at one of these companies, you're usually likely to take the golden parachute and retire VS protecting your company and brand. -
I am SURE there will be a better turnout for when they find a new time after this "postponement", after basically scamming the initial audience who would have been the target... yeah right. We'll just rush to buy those new tickets!
