  1. FáZZ - DIY prototype. It is based on the ZVEX Mastotron, using a Fuzzdog PCB. The RE/PUSH impedance control is pretty cool, you can adjust the breakup to the hotness of yours pickups. It lights up under UV light! (can add photos when it gets dark tonight) The LED is matching pink! BUDGET PRICE - This is a prototype as it's my first attempt covering a pedal faceplate with epoxy. Unfortunately it's SPONGY, the epoxy never hardened fully. It's not jelly-like, it's pretty solid, but you can mark it with your nail if you press hard - so this is something to consider. I will also add a short recording shortly.
  2. Just a slight bump, I really don't want to start advertising this on ebay/reverb 😅 Happy to answer any questions of course.
  3. This doesn't seem like a prank to me, more like a genuine product management messup, which he handles admirably transparently. People were saying "duh this is just so Josh can sell 7500 pedals in minutes"... Well I bought mine in the previous batch where all this drama was not announced yet, and guess what, it was sold out in about 15 minutes. 😁 I was glad I set up an alarm for the restock timer at 10pm BST. They were out of stock by the time I paid for my shopping cart and refreshed the main page.
  4. I don't like to distort bass, but with my guitar, it's one of the best damn distortions I have ever heard. Nice controllable breakup on lower levels, but insane crunchiness dialed to 10. It makes me wish I could play the guitar... 😁 That rarely happens! I downgraded my Notaklon to a clean boost that comes after the Dumble, but I might put it before, on paper it makes more sense. The Dumble distortion is just SO much better to my ears. And with bass, through the clean channel, it just made the sound better, more exciting, like saturating it. I am not familiar with the whole oldschool Dumble stuff to be honest, I don't know how accurate it is, but I LIKE it! Makes me turn the always-on Sansamp off, so I can enjoy the pure Dumble sound more. I'll still play around with the dist channel on a very low setting on bass, to see if I can get it more sansamp-y. But there's definitely less froom for EQ here than on a Sansamp. Anyways, this will live on my board, always on in some form!
  5. I just bought the JHS flight delay on a sale from Andertons and LOVING it. It's still on offer today! edit: sorry just realising you said "budget", well I guess £200 on sale is not that, but I think still worth considering. Note that the reverse has a few pops and clicks in it which is considered normal, it's a... feature of the original circuit. But it sound pretty amazing otherwise.
  6. Well this didn't take too long. I entered the game on the 16th of April. And now...
  7. So who's coming this Sunday? 🙂
  8. If filing is needed - I have done it before, not an enjoyable job, but takes a couple minutes and tries. And I had to file a brand new EMG, not a £16 one, so I had very sweaty hands... 😁
  9. Then that must be definitely lighter than my 8.4lb/3.8kg one. Mine is the blue colour variation of this same bass on this very page, and the clear difference is the ash VS alder body.
  10. If I'd ever get a new bass just for the purpose of tinkering, I'd still go HB! My current tinker bass is the Ibanez Talman TMB30 shortie, that was like £170 back when I got it. I think it's £200-ish nowdays. And I had some quality issues with it, like a seriously bent tuner, but I did not mind as I planned to put on black schallers from the 1st moment 😁 I think the HB out of box quality is higher at this point than even a similarly priced Ibanez.
  11. Here's a great collab from some of the incredible musicians g.t. stole from:
  12. My Lionel is ash body, 3.8kg / 8.4 lbs. Not the lightest, but fine for me. Could be lighter, yeah...
  13. It's still a big lottery for £250 when you can get 2 proper Harley Bentons for that price...
  14. Good stuff. I wish I was sent a Flight Delay!
  15. I mean I sort of get @ordep's point too. But if it's on a board... and you can step on it... (like on an actual switch, I know it's possible to just step on anything 😀)... How about the switchless, always on stuff on boards? They're not really pedals, they're just boxes after all 🙃
  16. I must be the luckiest person alive, but I got the same delivery lady for Evri (from Hermes days) and the same delivery guy from DHL all the time for years, all of them do a very solid job. Never had anything lost/delayed by them.
  17. That C4 there is a processor tho 🙃
  18. Oh I meant the faceplate. The edges retracted... it looks better live than on this pic 😂
  19. Anybody tried covering the pedal with epoxy? I am giving it a go now, I used epoxy before for other stuff so not completely new to it, but I forgot how ridiculously messy it is 😔
  20. Agreed, I also put the C4 on the front. Even tho it's digital, it reacts to a direct signal better, like an old fuzz would. I also love that you can set it to true bypass or buffered, based on your needs and pedal position!
  21. Cheapest solution is to take off that B from one of your fivers 🙂 What's you budget? Ultra cheap is a relative term if the end product is useless. Instead of ali/dh/temu, look into something like this: https://www.glarry.co.uk/glarry-precision-electric-bass-guitar-p7.html?color=Black&srsltid=AfmBOoqxQ1ZhsJFF-0Aa3cFDd-_MRReoMtPyMJ6zDLMtdabzZE56v01IC10 https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/LA-Bass-Guitar-by-Gear4music-Pink/7LN?utm_campaign=surfaces_across_google&srsltid=AfmBOopXzB5Ud0HiElX0nu8vwmVH6EvC0KKdt2ncn1guJBcxJzf3NT5h4Zk Although for £110 you can already get a Harley Benton. If you'd like to stay around the sub-75 quid range, I suggest checking Cash Generators and the like for a good used one, instead of the cheap end of the chinese imports. Some of these pawn shops have an ebay presence too, I bought 2 of my pedals on the cheaps from them!
  22. Selling my Harley Benton PowerPlant Junior, as I have outgrown it and needed some more power too due to having some digital pedals now. Never had any noise issues, nifty little thing. One of the 5 longer power cords is missing, so comes with only 4 long ones, and all the short and daisy chain ones.
  23. I also can't decide if I should put on LaBella flats, or the D'Addario black tapewounds? The original strings are finally losing their tone, and I found them too bright paired with the modern P pup
  24. No I'm not, nothing malicious here, let me just clarify my rather mundane points. Just found it weird that we have 6 pages of discussion about the theft and then people just drop the "WeLl mIMinG is NoT iLleGaL!" bomb, yeah yeah we know... 😁 Yes, I also agree with the bandwagon opinion, but I don't find it problematic when the bandwagon is actually highlighting something very problematic, that's just my 2 pence I guess. Simply does not bother me as much as industriual scale theft that's now going into gaslighting territory, when Mr Tuah now actually starts to act like everyone else has the problem. I'd rather take a "riding the news" expose from a small Youtuber any day, and then subscribe and like it to give a bit of algorythm chow to these channels. I usually can't do anything about people who get to the "do you know who I am" territory 😁 I just reacted to a single post I did not agree with. I don't think my opinion would have changed if "I knew who you are and what you know" lol. I am just a bedroom bassist nobody after all, in case it matters who I am and what do I know 😁 nobody and not too much. Jokes aside, I am sorry if I came off as condescending, that was not my goal. I do have a tendency of phrasing my stuff in unfortunate manners, but in reality I am less of an arse than I seem. And like @TimR also pointed out, yes it's been understood he's a person, he was reached out to by many musicians (also mentioned in this topic and the linked videos), yet he chose to double down, gaslight, keep selling the stolen stuff, and keep deleting "evidence" from Instagram. So no, I am not looking for an argument, I just have some very strong opinions about disgusting manipulators. I really, really, really f-ing hate gaslighters for personal history reasons
