1. having just had a nose through The Fender Bass book, it does look like a Precision Bass Plus Deluxe, except: the headstock logo doesn't look right (it looks more sci-fi in the book) and should have a serial number - right number of frets though (22) the tuners don't look right (both of which might just be that it's an earlier/later version than the one in the book) the bridge is missing the fine tuners (but is otherwise right) the pickups should be Lace Sensors and not EMGs

 4. currently the only effect I possess - it's the nicest wah I've ever owned - highly recommended
 5.
Aaah...don't do it!! Just out of interest & possibly a daft question; why did you have so many of them?
mostly because it was fun I bought the first one because I liked the shape, then a second one (yellow) to play in BEAD, then it all went a bit crazy. . I was trying to get one of every model and in all the colours before I realised just how many that meant (27) though eventually I settled on just trying to get one each of the four colours the vintage models (SB-2A SB-5A and SB-7A) came in. With that in mind the total came to 19, and I got to 16 before realising it was a bit mad - the failed attempt to buy an SB-2A from a Japanese shop was not the only long-distance discussion I had. One day someone pointed out that if I sold each one for £200 then it would come to £4K, and that did make me think So I sold them all off, but I have bought the pale blue one back since then (now defretted).
 6.
No worries mate - no harm done. I know I'm no photographer & the camera I have isn't the best in the World. Did think about taking some pics from the web & putting them up, but to be honest I sometimes feel that when sellers do that, they may actually have something to hide too. At least my bass exists, sh*te photos or otherwise! Wish I hadn't seen Paul_C's lovely photos other SBVs now, starting to regret selling this already - kind of inverse GAS(!?) Oh well....
they do look even better when there's more than one, that's for sure
 7.
Argh!! GAS Thanks... I think?
You'll have to keep googling and see if one turns up at Ishibashi, etc. - I tried to buy a 60s SB from a shop in Japan and they refused to sell me it, even when I offered to pay them their price, the shipping, plus another £50 !
 8.
Thanks! Is there any difference between that and the other P-J config SVBs other than the colour and fingerboard binding? Also I wonder why Miki Furukawa got a signature model when the other high profile user - Fumi from Polysics didn't? As I said in the other thread, if there was a 5-string version, I'd probably own one.
IIRC the pickups were different, along with all the hardware etc. There was a 5 string, only 50 made though, and I've only ever seen the following pics of it: a signature bass for a band called Terry (Takeshi Terauchi) and the Blue Jeans
Great tune, does anyone have a definitive way on how to pronounce her name, I always seem to run out of vowels?
"Named Michelle Lynn Johnson at birth, Ndegeocello has had numerous name changes. She adopted the surname Ndegeocello, which means "free like a bird". Meshell Ndegeocello is pronounced Mee-shell N-deh-gay-o-chel-o"
 10.
I think this is a very fine-looking and rather special guitar. The guitarseholes (thank you whoever came up with that gem) on MusicRadar have no idea.
can't you get a new one for £499 though ? *runs away*
 11. it is an occasional source of amusement to think that if someone owns an SB/SBV that isn't one of the three colours sold in the UK, then there's a good chance it was once owned by me, as I bought most of those in from Japan or the US.
 12.
Fantastic! Which one's the Miki Furukawa sig?
that was the most expensive iirc, at £500ish before shipping and duties
 13.
Like? I seem to recall you had about 14 of them, including the lovely Miki Furokawa sig. I had a blue SBV500 for a while, they're decent sounding well-made and unusual basses and this one looks as though it will go for next to nothing.
I had 16
 14.
Hi, I'm in the market for a silent-jack neutrik instrument lead. I've spotted on on the 'net which comes with this warning: "Please note: The signal will not be muted with active electric bass guitars which have a tip-ring-sleeve tap to activate the power supply." Errrr, what? I have a Stingray and a G&L Tribute, both of which are active. I'm not sure whether this lead will work with these basses. Can anybody enlighten me, please? Steve
it's telling you that the silent bit won't work with an active bass, and you have two active basses - what's not to to understand ? there is a switchable Planet Waves jack that works - http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=3892
 15. I'd be surprised if it was particularly rare though, yellow was one of the three colours sold in the UK
