1. Hi Would you be interested in selling the cab on it's own? R.
2. When I had my fretless Overwater made for me I discussed the option with Chris May but he was of the opinion it makes no difference to the sound and pointed to an artical in a bass magazine by Roger Sadowski saying the same thing. R.
3. Cheers Bilbo, PM on it's way to you. R.
4. I was wondering if anyone uses any MP3's or CD's they could recommend that have the bass removed so you can play along? I want to learn a few simple jazz lines and would like backing tracks to play along with. Cheers R.
5.
I take it the straplocks are gone?
Still waiting to hear back from Jim about the strap locks but if I don't hear from him I'll lt you know, out of interest do you need both locks and pins? only I think I have another pair of locks that I don't use. Cheers R.
6. As it looks like a trip to the Post Office for me next week I have reduced the price of the scratchplate to £10 to try and mail along with the other bits. R.
7. Hi Jim, I'm sure they are around here somewhere, let me know and I'll hunt them down.
8.
transformers in that amp will be more than fine with bass and so will the rest of the components. Sounds like you've got a duff valve. My advice is get a new set of WELL matched valves stick them in it and pluck away since these amps have a set bias anyway so you can't adjust it.
Many thanks umph I'll give that a go, where would be a good place to get hold of a pair of matched valves? Watford Valves any good?
9. Am I right in thinking then that it would be OK with bass at a low practice volume but not when pushed hard and the label is just Selmer covering their r's? it's a keyboard amp so it must have to handle a certain amount of bass notes.
10. Wise words and my thoughts exactly, I'll get it repaired, try it out with guitar and if I don't fall in love with the sound I'll think about selling it. Thanks for the link, I like the look of those all white heads and cabs their sister company make.
11. It's good to hear that it's probably repairable. I have no idea what I would use it for, probably not a lot but I feel it needs to be revived. As it's meant for keyboards and has some buttons for Leslie effects etc. I was wonering if it would be best to have that section wired out. not sure if that's a simple thing or not. Thanks for the advise so far. R.
12. Added a couple more pics Bloodaxe
13. Some more advise/thoughts please folk. Finally got hold of an old speaker and wired this beasty up and it's really not very well! Only one of the two EL34's glow and only for a short while then the HT fuse blows, just before it goes there is sound (humming) from the speaker though. I guess my question is does this sound like a typical problem with a valve amp that could be cheaply repaired by someone who knows what they are doing or should I assume it's beyond repair? Cheers R.
14. Last summer I was thinking of having a Shuker made for me, never happened but I thought I'd share the Photoshop mock up.
15. An Aguilar Octamizer has just popped up in the Effects For Sale section if anyone is interested. R.
16. I have one, it's better at tracking then the OC-2's I have owned and sounds way fatter then the EBS I had. I would like to try the Aguilar one at some point. R.
17. Ordered it but they are out of stock of some of the parts to make one up so I have to wait a couple of weeks before it ready. Brian at lakland says the screw holes are in a different place but otherwise it should fit.
18.
I believe that if you contact Lakland they will sell you what you are looking for - I don't know what the price would be.
$85 plus $15 postage. Easy as that, thanks EssentialTension R.
19. I have e-mailed Lakland today to see if they will sell me a wired up control plate, fingers crossed. I'll report back once I have heard from them. R.
20. Interesting stuff, thanks chaps. Looking promising, maybe I'll pick up a Fender blank plate for now and see how it fits, assuming you can get hold of them that is. I'm not worried about making it look like a US model but I do love that trans white and stacked knob look they do on the American made JO  Cheers R.
21. Really? I would have thought making a Skyline look more like a US model would be frowned on. I might drop them an e-mail and see how I get on. Thanks Dave
22. Well I finally got myself a Lakland Joe Osborn and I'm enjoying the passive tone of a jazz bass again, I like the look of the concentric knob layout you get on the US version of the JO and was wondering if this was an easy mod to do? sods law says the control plates are not the same. Any advice would be appreciated. R.
