3.
It's only because Cameron Toll feels very dry and cold.
Cameron Toll, eh? I used to rehearse out that way, back in the day, just behind the USS Savacentre! Glad this issue was solved, though. Sounded like it was going down the infamous Warwick Vampyre route!
4. Anybody seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gm2xkDfm_C4
5.
They go into a drawer and get forgotten about. When the bass is sold on, the owner can't find the bit but the sale goes through anyway and there's another orphaned leg rest! Again, have a word with Andy Yakubic at steinbergerworld.com. Andy had some parts made up a while back and can put together replacement leg rests for some L2s. I think there were at least two, maybe three variations on the L2 leg rest so you need to make sure exactly which one would fit your bass. Cheers Ed
Yeh, I'm on the forum over there. Andy has a wealth of knowledge. Sure I have posted re the rest but had no response. Perhaps I'll PM him. Three different versions of the L2 rest? That's interesting! So, how does one find out what type one needs?
6.
I'd heard about the Tele bass too on that tune. His ex-wife ran off with that and the 21 fret Rick and put them up for auction years later.
The 21 Fretter popped in Music Ground on a commission sale. Some eagle-eyed fella spotted it and next thing it was all over the RRF forum where the excitable little souls over there gor themselves into a right froth over it. But, with their assistance and that of a big CS fan, the bass was retrieved. It's an interesting read.
7.
Have a listen to 'The Gates of Delirium' from Relayer - def Jazz
Do you reckon? I know he was using that Maestro Brassmaster around that time which might account for this different tone but I'm sure that's still a Rick. Interesting.............
8. From time to time Newburgh bits n pieces pop up on USA ebay but Ive never seen a pivot. I need a plug-in rest for this L2 but Roman is looking for $300 for one and Im not even sure of its authenticity. I wonder where the hell these things go to??
9. Well, the XL2-UF that popped up has been sold therefore this L2 stays. @markorbit. Funny you should mention Steiny neck conditions. I have seen an L2 with a bit of up-bow in it and when asking questions about this one I bought, some other dude chimed in and said that theidea of L2s exhibiting neck issues was a myth perpertrated by some website her refused to name! Odd one, that.

11. Looks like a head-to-head with random Ps and EB0s.............
12. Aria Cardinal or a Grant/Columbus EB0 copy
13. w***er signs? I think you need to watch out for the flying (full) cans of Red Stripe or glass ashtrays which peppered my gigging days in dive bars back in the '80s: that's a sure sign the punters don't like you! Maybe the youth of today are a bit less violent?
14. IIRC, they used to come with a micro switch that allowd you to take it down to a single coil. Dunno if the still do but I did consider one years ago for a Ibby Rick that had one.
15. Bass withdrawn for now. Shouldn't have to sell her now to fund the unlined fella but interest welcome.
16. Yep, no issues anywhere! Actually, I now don't need to sell this fella and am thinking of pulling this feeler but if anyone goes for my asking price today it's theirs, before I change my mind!
17. 1983 model in vgc considering year. No structural, mechanical or electronic issues. Unfortunately, plug-in leg-rest, original strap and authentic Steinberger gig-bag missing. Frets look untouched. Selling only as an unlined XL has suddenly become available. Link here.
18. Ok, in response to PMs, I won't ship without insurance, so you're looking at around £17. You're welcome to arrange your own courier, though.
19. Recently acquired and may have to let go as something else has just poked its little head over the parapet! I'd be looking for £1600, freight extra. Anyone in the line for one?
20. Yeh, been doing the rounds. I blame WHitney Houston for all that sh*t!
21.
You think this guy spends much time in country pubs outside of London with Mark Percy?
Who IS this Mark Percy fella? I've just had a v quick look at his site but I'd rather hear about him from BCers. So, go on, who is he?
22. Reminds me of the £1500 Martin D-45 that was advertised last year on London Gumtree. On asking to view, seller said they had relocated to the Shetland Isles. "No probs" said I," I'll just hop on a 'plane! Gimme your address?" Response came there none!
