1. Yeah. Crown - or see if you can find a 2nd hand C-Audio or a Chevin. Both British built, both solid, both usually cheaper than Crown amps. There's a C-Audio on ebay... Vox 2x15

Nowt wrong with the speakers. Cab belonged to my mates dad from new I believe and wasn't overworked. It's then spent some year being an occasional guitar cab / stored in a studio. I'd be happy with it as is if was using a valve head and wasn't bothered about wheels and weight.
3. If I'd have bought a bass on here for €1700 and it wasn't as described, then the seller gave my concerns about that short shrift... I'd have no qualms whatsoever about leaving a dirty great **** in their feedback thread. In fact I'd feel a little obligated to!
4. I've texted him to ask how much he wants for the Vox...

nt - wrong thread
6. I have a vintage Vox 2x15 in my garage that belongs to my mate. I know he wants to sell it, but he doesn't know how much for or what it's worth. Bit of a rare model it seems. There's a thread here > http://basschat.co.uk/topic/146312-vox-2x15/page__p__1308206__hl__vox__fromsearch__1#entry1308206 Which highlights just about how much I know about this and cabs in general. In fact it highlights that I can't even read. I don't know why I'm bringing it back up
7. It goes... der der derr derr dun de ddeeer dun dun dun de de derr de dunn dunnnn... etc. I'd never try to learn to play it on the bass... I have pepper corns that need counting...
8.
And don't even get me started on The Hard Day's Night Hotel, I'd love to know what the Beatles would have thought about having a place running pretty much entirely off their images and playing their music outside on a constant loop during the day 45 years after they broke up. I cringe walking past there.
I dare say they'd say exactly the same as today... "How much are we gerrin' fer tha'?"

10.
As I said Sunday in the Cavern was great, but on Monday nearly all of the venues that had been belting out music the previous evening were closed although there were plenty of visitors including many from overseas including a high percentage from the far east. if you go on the Beatles Experience you only get one night in your hotel, I felt very sorry for those who'd arrived on Monday expecting to hear the 'Liverpool Sound' only to be subjected to self penned (rule of the house no covers) Suicide notes at the open mic night in the Cavern Bar and busking in the Cavern Club. We payed to stay another night as we'd enjoyed the Sunday sessions to say that it was a bit of a letdown would be an understatement. Go to Nashville and there we found umpteen bands all over town most nights during our two visits
Yeah, Liverpool doesn't make the most out of it during the week. If we were in America, the whole of Matthew Street would be (even more) Beatles-centric and it would go on 8 days a week. Probably the council that are against it. Probably need all the Sgt. Pepper's uniforms for their Monday afternoon shenanigans.
11. Sounds like someone running a stick up and down some railings
12. The reason why you can't upload pics through a browser (mobile version or not) is that Apple in their infinite wisdom have denied access to the filesystem to their own web browser. You can upload pics if you jailbreak. Or you can use http://picupapp.com/ which works best if it's incorporated into the site as well as on the iPhone, but can be used standalone. The app uploads the pic to an image hosting server and returns a url.
13. Yeah. Crown, Peavey, QSC are the big boys. There are some other little gems about too like C-Audio and Chevin.
14. Yep, it's just practice rather than a trick. What i do is really make sure I've committed the bass part to muscle memory. Then I really practice the vocal over and over. Then I practice them together until I can do it over an over. Then I work that into that part when practicing the whole song or it's context. Eventually you'll never play that bass part again without singing along. It general, the process gets quicker and easier, some parts just require more practice, others come relatively instantly. It's a rub the tummy, pat the head thing, once a part clicks, you can do it on demand, until it clicks it can feel unnatural.
15. One banana, two banana, three banana, four, All escaped from the Second World War, One with a Tommy Gun, one with a stick, And one with a hand-grenade tied to his... Tra laa laaa. Can't hear that tune without that going through my head.
16. All depends on how far we're travelling, how I'm getting there, what the PA situation is and how much we're being paid. Reliable kit that you know well, look after and is well serviced usually doesn't break down. I'm more likely to take a spare bass than a spare amp. Strings are the weakest link for me.
17. Can we have a basschat day trip / guided tour when it's finished?

19.
No, can't stand blocks. I do love the '65-'66 dot and bound Jazzes withe the lollipop tuners, though!
I don't mind blocks, but I'm with you on the dots and bound.

21. Aye, very neutral. The plus side of that obviously is that you can put different things in and get different things out. So rather than relying on the cab to sound right, you can get amps and pre-amps and twiddle them there knobs.
