  1. Failed miserably last year, so this year's starting out with no plans to acquire anything. However, this is subject to change without prior notice.

  3. Good documentary. NMA were an essential part of the "Alternative" culture in the 80's & 90's, a number of my friends at the time were huge fans, they were one of those bands that you either loved or hated them (I certainly knew a lot of people who hated them as well! ). Remember being dragged along to a couple of gigs when they played locally to where I grew up, and they were a great live band who fed off the atmosphere. Didn't understand the clog thing though.

  6. When I started out, I tried playing with my fingers, but failed miserably, so moved on to using a plectrum. Used them up to the late 90's when I pretty much switched to guitar. The favoured pick's for bass were... Dunlop Nylon's 0.73mm. Used Dunlop Tortex 0.60mm for guitar (the orange ones). When that band finished, I kind of lost interest in playing guitar, so started playing bass a bit more. As most of my bass "heroes" were finger-style players, I started working on my bass technique, took it back to bas(s)ics, and re-learned playing with my fingers. Still using fingers for bass, plectrum for guitars.
  7. IIRC, most DAW's have a function in there so you can specify a file path for where you want to store files, usually called something like "Preferences", "Options" or "User Settings", some may have some options on the initial start-up screen before you get into the project song itself, but it can still be accessed from the menu's.

  9. Went down a similar route a good number of years back, and got sucked down the rabbit hole of GAS. Shame I never was never that good a guitarist really. I'm a bass player that dabbles with guitars, still have them, still play them (occasionally), and it took that foray into the guitar world that cemented my love of playing bass. Knowing some of the guitar stuff has helped my bass playing no end, especially in terms of playing to the song and listening to what the other musicians are doing. Enjoy your time away, but you'll be back.
