1. I've got a couple of Spectors, might as well go to the original
2. Don't remember seeing this posted on here before so here 'tis, Mr Squire and his Rickenbacker, possibly the ultimate expression of Prog bass playing and composition and a masterclass in pickstyle. 3.
This might be my old Status! It had wear above the front pup just like that. Saying that, I sold my Status 5 years ago now.
It may well be... Probably best you buy it back to confirm.
4. I don't like the glittery finish much, but if it sounds like Eat The Rich, I'll want one!
5. Sold my MXR M80 to Mr Johnny C - no hassles whatsoever, quick payment and a great chap to deal with. Highly recommended! Enjoy the pedal Mr C!
6. I thought Blue Oyster Cult too... I only know Boards of Canada from the Salad Fingers cartoons.
7. 'Interesting' fact - "Stella by Starlight" was composed by Victor Young for the 1944 horror film "The Uninvited".
8. Fantastic pedal, but it's not getting used so it has to go... We all know what these do by now - it's an invaluable tool if you are a regularly gigging bassist. It's a godsend if your amp goes down - you can run straight into the mixing desk and PA. Also great for direct recording, I know from experience. The main reason I bought this pedal was actually for the distortion channel, which you can blend with the clean tone. I used to leave mine running all the time with just the right amount of grit dialled in. It's hugely versatile. A friend of mine calls this pedal the 'make betterer', which sort of makes sense. Here's the official gubbins from the manufacturer: http://www.jimdunlop...uct/m80-bass-di £85 inc. postage in mainland UK or can deliver if not too far. Open to collection as well, of course. Pedal is in excellent condition, no marks or damage I can see, and comes in the original box complete with instructions. 9.
I might be tempted by that. There are a few about, I have 2 already. Where are you?
I'm in Dartford, just off the M25. Tea and cakes at the ready for any occasion.
10. Another victim of my gear shuffle, here we have my Status Graphite Energy Matrix. A bit of a rare beast it would seem, even Google can't shed much light on it. This bass has, as far as I know, a Cherrywood Energy body and a graphite neck. I think the Energy bodies were usually paired with wooden necks but I may be wrong. Overall, the bass is in very good condition - as an unfinished body, the body does have some wear and playing marks but nothing drastic or extreme, and all in a 'look closely and hold up to the light' kind of way. There are a couple of dings on the bottom edge - not visible when playing (see pics). There is also a bit of wear above the pickup, typical of an unfinished body, wear a previous player rested his/her thumb I imagine. The graphite neck is in pristine condition and truss-rod free. The bass has the original Status pickups and active tone controls. I'm not open to trades at the moment, thanks. I'd prefer collection or can arrange courier at buyer's cost. 11. More pics:
12. Here we have my recently purchased Spector Euro with poplar burl top. Active EMG PJ pickups and the Spector Tonepump circuit. 34" scale. It's in near-pristine condition, with just a couple of extremely minor dings to the body. These are hardly noticeable and you really have to look to see them - certainly nothing to affect playability. The neck is spotless. I'm asking £800 for this Spector - ONO. Collection preferred or can courier at buyer's cost. No trades at the moment, thanks. Any questions please ask! 13. When I finally get around to putting together a slab 'tribute', it will have an extra knob and switch, just like JE's. They won't do anything though.
14. Hi Wibble, The cabs are 8ohm each. I'm in Dartford, just off the M25.
15. I have two Gallien Krueger NEO 2x10 cabs, bought in May last year and hardly used. They've never been gigged, only played around the house and are in as-new condition. These were supposed to be my cabs for a long time to come, but I've just picked up an old Mesa Boogie so these sadly have to go... These cabs can be stacked in a variety of different ways, as seen in the pictures. You can also, when in the 4x10 arrangement, tilt the top cab monitor-style. These were £370 each new, I'm after £250 each. I could probably knock a bit off if someone wants the pair Collection only, or could deliver/meet up if not too far.
16.
If you're referring to the Brune Street one, that was only a pale shadow of the mighty Wapping Bass Centre. Words cannot describe how great that place was. Or the stock they had. Fender, Gibson, Warwick, Dingwall, Alembic, Smith, Status, Parker, Musicman, Vigier, Ovation, Washburn, Steinberger, Kubicki, Yamaha, Ibanez.... And that's just the basses. Never mind the amps, strings, accessories.....
Agreed. And they greeted you with a smile and made you a cup of tea...
