A mate of mine used to play a Warwick Thumb tuned up a semitone. It works but can a bit tight. I would go for the 4 string and drop tune - drop-tuned Spectors are utterly brutal!

Annoying demo vid - mentions the amp has two channels then only lets us hear one.

How is a five string going to help with drop C? As for the bass, never played one of these but it's a Spector, it will be superb.

Looks boring as hell to me. Of all the things they could have given us, we get a sunburst PJ... Not even a different finish like those blue Teles. Edit: Not that there's anything wrong with sunburst PJs. It just would have been nice to be offered something a bit different.

Slightly OT but I saw Fish's bassist playing one of these last week - a fretless fiver - and it sounded glorious. Not sure if it was EMG or Bart though.

It used to be available alongside the standard Buzzard as the Buzzard 2 but following his death Status were forced to stop producing the JE-designed Buzzard by Warwick. Production of the B2 was allowed to continue as long as all refernces to the name 'Buzzard' was removed. I've never played a B2 but have been lucky enough to play the Status Buzzard, and it's an incredible bass. The owner advised me that the closest equivalent would probably be the Stealth bass, being of one-piece graphite construction.

[/quote] I always found the Luthite basses to have a rather dry, clean sound - not a criticism, but my tastes have always leaned more toward a warmer, growly passive kind of thing.

I adore these basses. Beautiful shape, and so, so comfortable. Sadly I never really got on with the sound of them. Doesn't stop me from eyeballing them on Ebay though! They used to be available in a coulour Ibanez called 'Vampire Kiss', a beautiful blood-red (unsurprisingly).
