Yes, of course I never meant to even dare to compare them, even remotely, to the sound of the original Rick. I had a similar experience when a friend of mine wanted to compare his HB bird to my TBird. I just kind of thought is as a chance to mod one and have fun with it, but I wondered if they are generally playable.

I understand how you feel, however when money (and, more importantly, the lack of it) is the main factor, all other motives unfortunately go down the drain, and it's natural. Times are hard, on a global level.

Regardless the neck, now that I have tried both, I think that the Epiphone pickups are nowhere near Gibson ones. The latter seem twice as powerful.

Is it possible to buy these Gibson pickups separately? I'm thinking of installing them.

As my mobile cam is so bad that it is better to try drawing the bass, I found a pic on the internet that looks exactly like it: (tried to find a pic where the jack hole is right under the knobs, which is the case with mine)
