1. I PM'd MB1 back with that, but for anyone else wanting to know i think the minimum i'd take for the pair is £550, they are available new from gear4music at £359 and £349 each (£708 total new) and these boys are in very near mint/new condition. So i think the price is fair. Im open to offers for trade, but only cabs and head please, if you have a rig you want rid of to downsize, then i may make up the difference with cash. Cheers!
2. now on ebay.... heres the description and link... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT Hey there, Up for auction is my Ashdown classic series Supfly rig. Included in the auction is the 2x250w (500w) Ashdown superfly head, a 500w 2x8" Superfly cab, a 400w 1x15" Superfly cab, 2 jack to speakon cables, 1 power lead and a soft padded case for the Superfly head. The head is a split 2x250w output through 2 cabs at 4 ohms, which basically means that whens using it with the cabs included in the auction, you'll be able to produce the full 500w of power, and for such a small and portable rig those 500w really packs a big punch! Right, heres a breakdown of the head, as said its a 2x250w configuration, and on the rear you'll find a D.I. (direct input) with a post/pre switch, a send/return effects loops, a USB input and a MIDI input with a USB/MIDI switch to toggle between the two, a standard line output an AC input and 2 speaker outputs, so if you want versitility, its deffinatly available here! On the front you'll find the instrument input, the input gain control with LED monitoring, a 7 bar digital LED graphic EQ interface with tweek controls for each bar, allowing you to fine tune your EQ to whatever you choose, it has an EQ bypass and a 'Store' button allowing you to store you favoured EQ as a preset. It also has a compression ratio toggle, so you can edit that element of your sound too. It has an 'edit program' button allowing you to edit a preset, and an exit button to come out of the program editing suite. With the preset controls you can toggle between factory preset EQ's or your own saved EQ settings, it has a signal level dial with LED output monitoring and finally a power switch. So thats everything to tell you about the head, for such a small beast it does alot right! The 2x8 cab is matching to the head, its a classic series superfly cab rated at 500w at 4 ohms. The serial number is 25608-0807, it was made in the UK in 2007. Both the speakers are custom Neodymium bass drivers which means for their size they can handle a lot of bass! It has 2 speakon ports at the rear and has a carry handle on its right side and is very easy to carry in one hand, its covering is black tolex and the grill is silver with the superfly logo on it. The cabs condition is very very good, could almost be new. The 1x15 cab is matching to the head and its brother cab, its a classic series superfly cab rated at 400w at 4 ohms. The serial number is 25816-1997, it was made in the UK in 2007. The speaker is a custom Neodymium bass driver which means for its size it can handle a lot of bass! It has 2 speakon ports at the rear and has 2 carry handles, one on its right side and one on its left. It is heavier than its brother, but I have no issues carrying it in one hand, its covering is black tolex and the grill is silver with the superfly logo on it. The cabs condition is very very good, could almost be new. The extras are a black padded case for the Superfly head and 2 speakon to jack cables with one power cable. Basically everything you need to get going with a bass of your choice. Just incase your worried about how to set this up, its very easy, plug both jacks into the speakon ports on the head (yes, jacks do fit into speakon ports!) and then plug each speakon end of the cables into both cabs, its doesnt matter which port they go into, just dont plug two heads into one cab! I also feel it necassery to say that this rig has been used with my 10 string bass, so it can handle low F# (one lower than a B on a 5 string) and a high C (nearly as high as a bottom E string on a guitar) So it can handle anything you throw at it happily! As a combine unit it will be hard to post, but i will do my best to arrange courier (probably DHL) at your cost, but pick up is deffinatly preferred. I may be able to meet you somewhere not to far from me, Im in south east essex. Any questions I will do my best to answer, I'm on 07912222127 if you want to discuss. Thanks, Russ.
3. Ok, sorry, it's been a while since I've used this! Well, I paid close to £1200 3 years ago, so let's say £650 for the head, cabs, carry case and leads. Russ.
4. hey, I have a marshall MBB 25w bass combo going. Its not big, but it'll do! Pretty much mint condition, hasnt been used really at all! The 15w ones are going for £72 new on gak, so im after around that price! 10 extra watts, and shes pretty much new. Offers? trades? (apologies for the poor photo!) Russ. 5. Hey, Im going to sell this little beauty to put money towards and upgrade. Bought in 2007, its the mini but mighty Ashdown Superfly 500w head with the matching 2x8 and 1x15 speaker cabs. to save me doing all the hard work, heres ashdowns own right-up on it.... http://www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/detail.asp?ID=156 I know that its technically a 2x250w head, but the rig for sale will put out the full 500w as its going into 2 4ohm cabs giving you maximum output. The entire rig is pretty much in as new condition, the head has an ashdown padded carry case, and I have 2 speakon to jack leads plus the standard kettle lead to throw in aswell. I think its worth saying that this little rig has had a 10 string monster bass from bee basses going through it with absolutely no worries, she can handle low F# to high C and sings all the way! The only place i can find a NEW 1x15 superfly cab in here... http://www.nuloop.com/en/instruments/item/...gle_products_uk And its priced at £656, so hey, get in! These cabs are very very good quality, i know theres some ashdown haters out there, but this rig is a great set-up and i love it, but i need more! I will consider part ex for various other bass amps, but cash is preferrer, im in essex and send me your offers! Russ. 6. Hey, hmmm the temptation.... I could quite comfortably do with one of these again, i had the same cab as shown, and managed to destroy it in a fairly epic way, but we wont go there.... its too painful. well, so far as stuff to part ex with, im going to be long and give you a list of all the things im potentailly willing to trade. get back to me with any interests you might have. I can add some cash to a deal or item to see this happen, but im not the richest person right now. Spector euro lx4 in black black cherry fender (mex) 5 string with attached GK3B midi pickup Roland Vbass Ashdown 500w superfly head Superfly 1x15 cab superfly 2x8 cab marshall MBb series 2 25w mini amp marshall as50r acoustic amp line6 spider 2 75w amp Conklin bill dickens 7 string bass in wine red 1979 Clarissa roundback acoustic (action a little high) Audio technica bass/guitar wireless system Thats about the lot. 11. Hey, Well, its been a while since I've been on here, and I cant remember if I ever posted a picture of the finished 10 string, so.... drum roll.... here it is in all its glory! (hopefully the picture is attached right!) Russ.
12. I'd recommend him, Rogers a good guy, sends you pics and keeps you updated. The cost isnt too bad either. for 7 custom made and inlayed 1 inch diameter knobs, the truss rod cover (as shown), a set of ten hipshot ultralite tuners and 12 rabbit shaped camphor burl and birdseye tuner buttons it came to about 500 quid. thats quite alot of custom hardware for the money. What would yo be going for?
13. heres a pic of the truss rod cover. the works being done by roger at THG knobs. Man, after 15 months of waiting, yeah 15 MONTHS! i cant wait for this thing to be delivered!
14. you should check out yves carbonne www.myspace.com/yvescarbonne listen to holy spirit, theres no over dubbing, just chordal work, sounds amazing. there are some vids on youtube under "yves carbonne holy spirit" the man has a ridiculous reach when it comes to chords on a 10 string fretless! gregory bruce campbells a good ER player too, more slap orientaited tho.

19. yeah, they got reported. according to ebay, the messages i got where from people who had their accounts hacked by the exact same scheame they tried to get me with. so dont go clicking on links from random ppl, otherwise they'll turn you into a scammer without you even knowing it! bastards. i fail to see for all the effort they put in, what they get out of it. besides access to peoples ebay accounts. again, bastards! Russ
20. hey guys, If your listing your stuff on ebay, stay the hell away from the following ebayer... hortonfishery carscostco mpk610p they are scammers and they'll try and screw you. they do it from multiple angles so you dont know who to believe. Mpk610p was the winning bidder on my auction and this is what he send once i sent him the invoice.... "hi sorry to mess you about but unfortunately i cant pay for the item now as my washing machine caught fire and i have to replace it and redecorate sorry again mark" hortonfishery and carscostco both sent me messages with links to phishing websites, websites that ask you to type in passwords, usernames, card numbers etc etc. DONT DO IT! these where the messages they sent me..... "Thank's to eBay the forum,we already know that you are a scammer, get a real job or something: www.monitor-ebay.by.ru/monitor.eBaycgi-eBayscammer-FORUM.html" and... "Hello, I want to purchase your item but I have seen the same item posted by another seller . It has exact description and pictures as yours. Please let me know who is the real seller . You can still see the item at the seller's on-line store by clicking on the link below or copy and paste it to you browser: http://89.34.215.66/cgi/ws/eBayISAPI.dll/S...wItem.php" anyone whos knows the username of a ebay scammer post it here, we'll get a list together of who to avoid, should make us all a little safer. Cheers, Russ.
21. you ever thought about using nitromorse? its a paint stripper that 100% harmless to woods. i used it a couple of times to get thick layers of lacker and paint off bodies. makes sanding sooo much easier!
22.
because it has 4 strings, it doesn't matter what it's made out of, it's still an electric bass. However the instrument in your avatar because it has so many strings, it's not actually a bass.
basses are allowed more than four strings!
23. haha, love the postcard, good work! as for changing my tune... just thought id tone down my thoughts on this bass... people didnt like my innitial "what the hell is this" remark. but still... deffinatly not a fan of it! call me shallow, but unless it sounded absolutly astonishingly ridiculously amazing, i just couldnt get rond the look of the thing! probably the T-1000's bass of choice, and if its good enough for him, then who am i to disagree! extended range bass or ERB if you will, would be the correct term for the "instrument" in my avatar.
24. for me, it just doesnt look good, it looks cold and harsh! but, it may play like a dream. im interested to know the price on these things. any ideas? anyone played one?
