Anyone have experience of using MOTU Express 128 or Micro Lite?
Twigman replied to JapanAxe's topic in Other Instruments
I have used a MOTU MTP-AV USB which is basically a 128Express with added clock capabilities and it is more than capable. -

Thank you for choosing MusiciansFriend.com.
That was last Monday 7th I've heard nothing so today i contacted them and this is what they said
Thank you for your recent inquiry. Your order was shipped to the international processing center of our partner BorderFree, who will be sending the order to you. It left our facility on October 8. On average, it takes four to six business days to process at the international facility and will then be shipped directly to you via DHL Express. As soon as it ships from the international processing center, we will send you an email with the tracking information. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns, or if you are not completely satisfied with the service you have received from us today. We appreciate your feedback. We appreciate you choosing Musician's Friend. Have a great day!
So now the 5 days becomes 6 business days......how tedious is this? I thought US customer service was supposed to be exemplary? This is frustrating and quite shocking to me. I expect emails when they say I will get emails - am I being unreasonable? Why would it take them so long anyway? Anyone any experience with Musician's Friend and will i ever get my order?

Ever wondered why your cab has funny shaped holes in it?
Twigman replied to davehux's topic in Amps and Cabs
I care about port, too.
but not so keen on sherry huh? -
Could be...cosy?
I know - I reckon it might but I might have to take the Roqsolid cover off to get the bootlid closed......

Do you reckon I will get a Barefaced Super12T in here: http://www.cars101.c...html#dimensions Barefaced Super 12T Dimensions 30" H x 19.5" W x 13.5" D I keep meaning to take my cab to the Toyota dealer but haven't got round to it.
What I crave personally is a totally uncoloured back line set up, so that my bass sounds like it does through headphones in my studio. Not found it yet.
I think I have with my GB Shuttle 9.2 into my Barefaced S12T That sounds like perfection to me.

Jazz bass with two precision pickups
Twigman replied to Annoying Twit's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Thats sort of what I was aiming for with my precision. But I haven't got around to swapping the Affinity neck for some a little better and blacker...
It needs to be Matt black - so no light can escape whatsoever...... -

Melodyne every time -
i have a Babicz on one of my Warmoths. It's an excellent bridge. It has no sharp pointy bits unlike some others - (Gotoh 201 anyone?).... However if you use your right hand to dampen the strings you will find that you cannot make contact with the strings as they pass over the saddles as they will be 'buried' in recesses, Tricky... That said I far prefer having a blood free plucking hand
AM I SHOUTING AGAIN???
SORRY? DID YOU SAY SOMETHING?
-
No offence, I mean you were probably just as good before, but a cab cannot really make you a better player. It might make you play more as you like the sound, which makes you better.
It makes me better precisely because I can hear what is wrong with my playing and do something about it. I have heard things that I previously had not noticed and been able to correct them.

Too loud you say? I am running a Shuttle 9.2 into a BF Super12T - That's 900W at 4ohms......and I still have plenty of control and the ability to turn it down.
-
a very clean set-up does expose any technical deficiencies in its owner's playing
A characteristic for which I am grateful. If it wasn't for the transparency of my setup I would be oblivious to the shortcomings of my technique and thus would not work to improve it. I think having a Barefaced cab has made me a (slightly) better player (albeit still a hamfisted amateur).....it has improved me.
Did you buy the Barefaced?
Had a Super12T for a few months yeah
I dare you to get a trailer made for that Porsche. Or a roof rack.
What Porsche? I am actually getting a GT86, not a Porsche
-
You're not buying the car to fit the cab?
I already have a car that fits the cab (Mazda6 estate) - but it bores me to tears - I like driving - I drive more than I play bass..... Was going to get a Porsche but there would've been NO WAY I could carry ANY cab in one of them....compromised with the GT86....a BB2 or SuperMidget or Super Compact will definitely fit....S12T I'm not so sure.

I have an HA3500 in a wooden box. While being a great amp I found the fan very noisy and have changed it for a quieter fan. I also find that I have had to change the tube quite often as I find it gets noisy unless it is running s reasonably fresh tube. i was driving a BF S12T and the Master was up at 2 o'clock so could have been driving the amp quite hard. I have now got myself a GenzBenz Shuttle 9.2 and the HA3500 has been demoted to the subs bench.

i think it will very much depend on how good the G3 cabs are. Using new bespoke drivers, there will obviously be differences. Are these drivers as reliable as the Emminence drivers from the G2? Time will tell. For now I am happy with my Super12T. That said I am still unsure as to whether I will be able to get it in the boot of my next car (Toyota GT86) which will probably come in November. At that time I might be looking at a BB2 or a Super Midget just so i can use my cab at rehearsals......but I hope I can continue to use my Super12T
