As of tomorrow a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 into a Barefaced S12T....not given this rig a blast yet....just bought the shuttle...waiting to see how it goes - am expecting L O U D

I got hold of the new Placebo album today - am loving it!

never needed to 'save' for a bass - always had the cash sitting doing nothing. Basses are not a save up for kind of thing. Ferraris are a save up for kind of thing. Swimming pools are a save up for kind of thing. Pitts specials are a save up for kind of thing. Basses? Nahhh

[/quote] Totally different from the experiences I have had. I have been there twice. Neither time did I make an appointment. The first visit I bought a hipshot 3 string retainer. - probably one of the cheapest items in the shop. The second I bought a Mono gig bag. Both times Mark has had time for me. We chatted about lots of things music. He actually remembered me the second time from my first visit! He allowed me, without appointment, to try some amps and heads with my own bass. ...and didn't get upset when i didn't buy.

Can someone explain why the nut on this guitar looks like it is cut so deep, why it stands so proud between the strings and what is it made of? it looks metallic to me.

Lend it to a timelord who will take it back in time and have it gigged for 40 years and then have it left in a pre-arranged place for you to pick it up - an uncle's loft is a good choice.

I think i'll just add to this thread now that I have had my S12T for a few weeks. I have rehearsed 4hour sessions weekly with my band with my S12T on an Auralex gramma pad and it just keeps getting better and better. The dispersion is amazing - it does not matter where in the rehearsal space I am the tone of my bass is now fully audible to all - it seems to fill the room - i have never experienced anything quite like it! I am driving it with a 'mere' Hartke HA3500 which is more than ample to get some serious volume and after a few Eq tweaks and balancing the tube and SS pre inputs I am close to my perfect tone now.... I find it light and easily manageable - it fits lengthways in the boot of my Mazda6 under the cover without folding the seats , leaving half the boot free for other stuff.....although whether it will fit in aToyota GT86 (getting one soon) is another story - i might be buying a MidgetT at that point (but would probably need a more poweful head to drive it) but not as a replacement .The S12T will never be replaced.... Loving it.

I use a HA3500 into a 4ohm BFB S12T - it's more than plenty loud enough.....despite folk telling me I need a GB 600/900 all the time.....I can't see the point. The HA3500's only downside is its bulk but I do have mine in the wooden box. I used to use it with a 8ohm Hartke VX1508 and to be honest it does not seem that much louder with the barefaced, just a lot less distorted and much much clearer. btw Alex if you read this I am loving the S12T - the more I use it the sweeter it sounds,,,,,,I am very close to my perfect tone now - very happy customer.
