1. For me, at the moment, as I posted yesterday it has got to be the Eastwood Airline Map34 bass.......it looks amazing! to me
 2.
, you payed £54 so it looks like you got away with it.
That's what we always pay
 3.
I think it depends what you want. If you are after a mass-produced instrument with a well-known brand name on the headstock then there are plenty of places to try one out first.
They vary in weight and feel so much that I'd far prefer to buy the exact instrument that makes me decide I want one of them than leave it to chance on an interweb purchase. That said I have only ever bought one bass from a shop. The others I have had were either given to me or made using components sourced on the web (albeit I did know the exact weight of each body before I bought them).
 4. IMHO get as loud a rig as you can afford and turn it down. - the volume knob works both ways! That way you can play anywhere and never overstress any part of your rig.
 5.
How much did you have to pay?
It was £10.80 each - there are 5 of us that was 7pm til 11pm studio 4
 6. E-bow? Not tried one on a bass
 7.
I'm sorry to say as soon as audio started playing automatically on page 2 you lost my interest
ditto
 8.
When was the last time you used it?
On Sunday
 9.
I tried the Santuary and found their prices very high.................. At £16 per hour
We must be getting a discount then as we have always paid less than that, even for Studio4 ! <smug>
 10.
Sanctuary's a good studio. Good gear, good value and the guys there are very friendly. Beware of the room with the sofas though; you'll spend all your time 'trying it out' instead of working! Truckstop
We rehearse at Sanctuary....after the recent refurb the room with the sofas no longer has sofas... Don't make it too popular or we'll struggle to book our time slot
 11. Another reason to love Warmoth licensed bodies. They always rout the pickups tight and drill through to the cavity.
 12.
Another Sessionette 4x10 here too. Did me for years, only just loud enough though for the band I was in at the time, but not too heavy either. They've got a very quiet preamp and might be good in to a class d power amp.
That one used to be mine right there!! Before that I had a Carlsboro Cobra 90 head and a very DIY looking 1x15"
 13.
i had a session 100 4x10
snap I loved it - I sold it to Moonbasealpha
 14. Try these: http://www.variohm.c...ndex.php?mid=65 The JD model knobs look exactly the same to me
 15. Why not buy them straight from Sadowsky in the states http://www.sadowsky.com/store/sadowsky-bass-knob.html
 16.
I was told by a tech that I probably have a logrithmic pot, and that it may work more evenly if I changed it to a linear pot.
That is a fair point
 17.
Those of you who are gettng a lot of range, have they been modified in any way?
My JV-P not modified at all andthe tone knob has a massive range. My green warmoth made myself - i used an orange drop .047mf capacitor in it - it has massive range My yellow warmoth has a John East P-retro in it but the passive tone knob has massive range
 18. Does anyone here have an Eastwood Airline Map 34? I got looking at the Eastwood website this morning and am taken by this bass - it looks like a prop for a Gerry Anderson puppet feature. The spec says it has a chambered mahogany body. Mahogany is usually heavy but of course chambered bodies are naturally light. If anybody has one could they tell me how much one might weigh, what the balance is like and what kind of neck profile they have, please?
 19. On all 3 of my Ps there is an enormous difference in tone between each end of the knob's movement with everything in between on the way. Even with flats! You've either got the wrong capacitor or no capictor in there.
 20.
I have a red bass too... no young ladies come up to me.... maybe I need a hat....
I used to have a red bass and got no interest from the ladies. Since changing to a yellow bass I find I am beating them off with it.
 21. I so wish I hadn't visited Eastwood guitar's website now. Why do I do this to myself? i am trying to justify not spending the £679 on one of those Thunderbirds props.......and I can't. I'm gonna be very poor very soon.
 22.
She was obviously only trying to make conversation with you so you could ask her for her number.........and you blew it! Twice!!!!!!!!
next year will it be third time lucky?
 23. Eastwood Classic4 ftw http://www.eastwoodguitars.co.uk/ Actually almost any of the Eastwood basses....I'd love an Airline4 - it loioks like something out of Thunderbirds - God I want one:
 24. I just read a bit of it on Amazon. I am appalled that Morrissey seems to have used American spellings for words such as centre, glamour and colour. Disappointing.
 25.
The amount of times I turn up for a jam and the guitarist has written a bunch of stuff that doesn't conform to any structure or key signature, "Who needs theory when it sounds cool man"... ... Coincidentally these are also the bands that only want you to play root notes....
We do a lot like that but rarely stick to roots.....our guitarist often 'tries' to communicate with theory...last night he was trying to work out which key a new middle8 is in...I said that it doesn't really have a key and he conceded defeat...so what key would a passage that went D,up to A, up to Bb,down to D#, upto A, down to C#, up to G, down to D through F and E be in???? whoops I've just given away our latest middle8..
