Thanks ! Through sheer dumb luck - i've managed to do it. I used this diagram I found on Talkbass, It worked as I wanted to (both pickups have a switch) so now I have an unholy number of pickup configs available.

I have an MTD Kingston Super 5 that has 2 MM pickups, each with a 3 way DPDT switch. It is currently parallel/single coil/series. I want to change it to single coil/parallel/single coil, I'm not sure how to do this as I can't find anything from MTD about their stock wiring, nor have they replied to my query. Can anyone kindly work it out from the below and suggest how I can achieve it ?

This is accurate, I do release management for a public used app and it's a far bigger an overhead supporting the numerous Android devices. We've had to limit it to the main ones and have reduced functionality in other devices, and no download at all for the really old ones. There's a web alternative, however.

This is a sign of the times where older devices can be updated form the internet to become more current. Only really processing power and interfaces can change with newer products if the manufacturer maintains support for the older. I was getting on fine with my B3n with a few workarounds, but this one does what I need better. I don't use any factory patches, mostly just compression, drive models and ZNR.

I've had mine long enough now to judge it. I have set up a patch per bass I use to be able to set the right levels/EQ to get the sound I want without any on the fly tweaking. It does what I want better than the B3n did and the USB connectivity to my laptop for BandLab works great. The UI is definitely not intuitive, however I overcame this within a couple of days as muscle memory kicked in. I have A/B'd all of the DI models and cannot for the life of me tell any difference between them nor it being off altogether. I could do with them releasing the Android app as that is currently iOS only, which feels a bit elitist. That said, overall it does what I need and I thought the price was reasonable for the improved connectivity over the B3n I had.

I think people's stance on this subject may depend on the type of band they're in. I was in a busy covers band where they had an ampless stage and IEMs mixed through a laptop. I was never that happy with my sound (admittedly cheap IEMs) until I had an amp on stage to rumble the floor a bit. My current grunge/djent originals band is very much old school, we like our amps and much of our tone is dependent on them, also - a band with amps always looks cooler than one without </thread>.

I wouldn't take that SVT810 for free. Absolute liability having that slipped disc maker in your possession. Heavy cabs seem to end up on clearance a lot, any manfacturer that isn't putting most of their R&D into it is going to struggle in my opinion.

I'm coming that conclusion. If it was my only bass i'd probably want it a bit less 'fusion' sounding but I have other loud and snarly instruments if I want. The same outcome is looking likely for the JM too.

Saw this pop up on Facebook and was reduced to an unmissable price with a 40 min drive involved (bonus - he had a cat to meet). I already have an RBX6JM which is fairly similar, but in practise they differ as TRB has higher pickup positions leading to a mellower sound, as well as wider spacing making it a little easier on the hand. I've experimented with rotating the pickups to move the coil also with various interesting results (turning bridge pickup on TRB is the sweetest 70s Jazz tone). The conundrum I now have is I have a set of EMG DC45s I found cheap, do they go in the JM or the TRB ?! n.b. the JM has a Delano Sonar 3 preamp installed.

Unfortunately that's a widespread issue. Your cheapest option is replacing with Hipshot Rails.

I've seen someone fit some DC45s along with a Delano Sonar preamp and it sounds great. I already have the latter installed but with stock pickups in my Yamaha RBX6JM. A few questions to those with the know how please. 1) Can I use a separate battery to the preamp or does it have to be on the same circuit ? 2) Is the existing blend pot usable or should it be an EMG one ? 3) What (if any) grounding connections need to go ? You won't find a single piece bridge for them yet, Dingwall will be releasing one but I believe it will require routing to fit. Is your issue the saddles are a bit 'loose' with a low action ?

MTD ? Here are some Kingston series (£1100-£1300) but the custom shop US are much greater quality, and under £10k for a very high spec model. EDIT: My Super 5 has 19mm spacing

I disagree, try a taper core B string and you may change your mind. I currently have MTD's on mine and the B is excellent.
