1. Wow those Fenders are erm... quirky ! Don't think it'd be something I could a) not feel a bit queasy looking at and actually do in the first place ! I think Orange Metallic would look pretty funky, much like the BB414:
2. Wow, great line up. Should be there .
3. Good luck with the sale ! Where in Brum are you giblett ?
4. Nice - a tough call between that and this one: http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0132000300

6. I'm not an experienced sprayer so simple would be best ! Car colours are a good source of inspiration, i'm not sure if bright yellow would be a bit much on a fretless bass though ! Lime green would be the same, it'd look cool but I wouldn't want to own it. I'm thinking about a metallic gold/copper at the moment, a bit like this: or
7. I've decided to strip down and repaint my Yamaha RBX775. The stock finish was starting to wear and look a bit tired, especially around the bridge pickup where my thumb rested. Plus I got a bit bored of looking at it ! Anyway - i've already done 90% of the sanding, but just can't decide what colour to go for. The alder body is a 3 piece and mismatched so natural is not an option. I want a colour you don't see this model in so i'm dismissing black, light silver and pretty much any red (don't want similar coloured instruments to what I already have). So what do you think would look good ?! The neck is painted black and i'll leave it that way, the headstock plastic bit i;ve got off so can be sprayed to match whatever I go for. Here's a recent pic followed by a stock image:
8. Love that tone, was it DI'd ?
9. I love them on Jazzes but they get in the way horrendously for my playing style. Precision I think look best with just the pickup cover on it's own .
10. I can't see any difference other than the pickguard - if you like it enough buy the standard one and make your own !

Will try and add it this weekend when i've got more time to spare. It's not really an installation, just some clever custom code so nothing can go wrong, can it ?!
12. Great idea ! I'll tell them I bought a 6 string set and they were all dead ! So that's 18 free packs !
13. The MM copies aren't that great. Ok as a starter bass but there are much much better to be honest. I'd be looking at trying to pick up a 2nd hand OLP if I were you.
14. Because the strings slowly decay over weeks/months it's hard to notice why you're starting to feel dissatisfied with your basses tone, even if you remember it being the holy grail a few months ago. The only exception to this is my Jazz, that I can put brand new strings on and it still sounds the same !
15. I think it'd suit metal very well. Shavo Odajian from SOAD had one for a bit didn't he ?
16. US Jazzes have seen a price increase recently, but it looks like not as much as I thought ! They seem to be £869 on GAK and Stingrays are £999 (2EQ). SO not a fat lot in it, but it's enough to expect a little extra on top or some sweeteners.
17. I think stick with the roundwounds if that gets you your sound, but some marine expoy would be good. I'm currently stripping and refinishing my Yamaha RBX and am going to do this on it. Bought some yacht varnish from Wilkinsons for £3.49 - should do the job.
18. My Q6 Pro was pretty good. Got it from SoundControl in Salford for £330. The EMG pickups & preamp were super clean and it had a really 'hifi' sound. Unfortunately I sold it due to the fact I couldn't get on with the high C, only lost £30 after having it 9 months though ! Here it is..
19. Hmm value wise i'd say a US standard is a fair swap. They're both roughly £1000 new - even if the Stingray does have a bit of an edge in quality.
20. It is indeed the Basic Ken Taylor. http://www.sandberg-guitars.de/basscat-ove...es-top/basic-kt
21. Don't see many Katanas about ! Looks nice - good luck with the sale.

23. Of the probably dozens and dozens of basses i've played in the last few years in shops and at shows, i've never seen a Rick. I think their exclusivity and lack of supply is sad, but if it works for their business model then that is their prerogative. Definitely want to try one - even if I don't like it.
24. Hmmm. If you're happy with the Spector then why be influenced by others ? The only Jazz i've found I really liked for that style was the Miller Jazz, all others seemed like a weaker version of it (i'm hoping to find one I like !). My Mexican Jazz sounds pretty crap when slapped, but finger style it's absolutely fantastic.
