1. I think a lot of the Fender appeal comes from the fact they're used by so many of everyone's bass heroes it's inevitable that someone you like uses one. That and the fact they're the most popular basses in the history of the instrument means they will never lose their appeal. My Jazz is fairly average, sounds like a Jazz but doesn't sound or play a patch on my Warwick, but I wouldn't sell it - I love it's nostalgia and old school tone.
2. Now deleted and the IP banned - thanks for letting us know.
3. I had a V940FL, the bass was reasonably constructed but the electronics REALLY let it down. Sold it a couple of years ago for about £150 I think.
4. Exclusivity or some crap. Rickenbacker have utterly failed to understand the principles of supply and demand.
5. I knew what the replies would be before I even clicked on this thread .
6. Wow that's really nice - and I don't like singlecuts !
7. It's Gaz isn't it ? Looks a bit like Yoda.
8. No sale here ?! Moving topic .
9.
I'd like to say a bit thank you to the team in PMT in Birmingham...........if they're on commission it's clearly on what the team sells, which is how it should be.
No commission in PMT - they prefer to give a slightly higher salary rather than force staff to be vultures.
I went into PMT Birmingham asking after a particular tuner pedal to be told by one of their more 'mature' people that they didn't stock that brand, that the brand was crap, that "only an idiot would want to buy one" and that he'd rather "step on dog sh*t than one of those".
Can you describe the chap ? I'd be surprised and dissappointed if it was Dave 'The Bear' Sheriff.
10. Hmm - I doubt it !
11. Nice sheets.
12. Fantastic sales pitch there .
13. I assume it's out of warranty ?
14. Yep it's working now !
15. *reads it through again* Oh yeah, you get the idea .
16. If 300w with a 410 isn't enough for you I would rethink your whole amp setup. Perhaps go for a higher output amp with a better cab setup ?
17. Yup, it's borked. Smells like a DNS issue to me.
18. Who, GreeneKing or Elvis ? .

20. Hah ! My Dad ended up walking away from a former large box shifting store (rhymes with Pound Patrol !) with a brand new US Gretsch Firebird 6131 (RRP £1699) for £399. They had it marked as an Electromatic (Made in Korea), he even asked them if it was the right price and they said it was ! We eBayed it a few months later for just under a grand, nice profit there. Some shops deserve to lose money for employing idiots that don't know their posterier from their elbow. EDIT: Shops do not have to sell for an advertised price or even sell anything at all, it is an invitation to treat: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invitation_to_treat (I knew that A-Level Business Studies would come in handy one day !)
21. He's in Germany, I can tell you that much .
22.
On the Squier site for this model you can look at the specification. Under "Unique features" is Side Dot Position Inlays
Oh ! In that case it's every other bass in the world that doesn't and just the Squier that does .
23. It's pretty safe to assume they do - I don't know of any production electric basses with no markings at all.
24. It would have been your browser storing the previous one in your cache but the website specifying it displayed at a different resolution .
25. Snap in my 2000 MIM.
