1. don't forget about a clearcoat even if you're not using any decals it's worth it!
2. It deffinitely is more than 20 years old and it's a Dunlop. Can't help you with much more sorry!
3. you don't have to spend a fortune just buy this : http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=31292
4. Well it would be logic for you to try an mini multi like the zoom b2.1u! If you think that a decision made based on a soundclip or a youtube video is enough than you might be in for a shock! When it comes to effects they are so different with anither amp ir a bass or anything for that fact so the purpose of buying the zoom would be to test what you like and what works for you, sell the zoom to someone and buy separate stompboxes! Simples....
5. Drop a line to "mark_random" he is the man to help you with GAK! I had excellent service from them, last year I've ordered an effect and it arrived the next day and that was on the 24th of December with all the stupid snow about and many people waiting for their stuff for ages so I had the opposite! Remember as well that GAK and gak.co.uk are 2 different places and operate somewhat independently!
6. Count me in for the great gramma pad!
7.
High quality multi fx pedal? Line 6 M9.
It's hardly a multi fx is it ? Compared to Boss it's quite lacking in possibilities...
8. I think you misunderstood the purpose of this forum mate
9. Hi Chaps, Anyone has any recommendations for a freeware drum software ? I'm after something that will let me create some simple beats and with one good sounding acoustic kit. Any suggestions ? Cheers Jack
10. And have in mind that GT10-B only has 8 seconds avilable and only 1 loop at a time! Might be better off with a separate looper IMEV
11. http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...ffect-Pedal/7PQ
12. Well yes the cables are an expense, plus the pedalboard etc but for the Boss you'll need another cables and a bag as well so add another £40 to the price! If you want a multi than why not try this: http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails....mp;ParentId=248 or maybe this http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/zoom-b2.1u/68355 With any of those it will be easier to sell them on if you don't like it! Remember there's not many people who are keen on the big multi units! Cheers Jack
13. Well I have the Boss GT10-B and it's a good unit. If you tweak about with it then you can get pretty much anything ou of it! The initial patches are crap and it will require couple of hours to get usable sounds out of it. All the effects are good quality and you can pretty much combine them in any way you want. With Boss the only limit is your own imagination so you willhave loads of fun playing it! However, it is a very complex unit that I would only recommend to someone who will fully utilise it's possibilities! I think that if you not using more than 8 effects at any one time in each song than you can get away with much smaller unit or even seperate stompboxes which is something I'm seriously considering at the moment! Cheers Jack
14. Yeah probably, but they look f*cking cool
15. Well they don't have to be videos, but I would like something that would take me gradually through all the stages. Start somwhere at the beggining and kind of progress steadily, I know net has loads of info but it's all a big mash for me as I really don't know where to start.
16. I can help with organising it coz I've got loads a time so shall we maybe agree on some sort of a ballpark date ?
17. Anyone know where I can find the rack case that is the first item in the flash presentation on gator website ? http://www.gatorcases.com/ they don't even list them on their product list yet for some reason Cheers Jack
18. So where are we at with this London Bash ? Seems a bit dead now ?
19. Hi Chaps, Seeing as I have an umeployed person's amount of time on my hands and I'm not starting work until April I decided to improve on my theory and technique a little bit. I've been playing for about 10 years but never really paid attention to any of the scales etc. I basically play what feels right and I kind of look for the next perfect note on the whole fretboard rather than just thinking ''Hmmmm this is how it could be played'' if you know what I mean. Never really practiced anything else apart of what my fingers are didcating. If I have a particular part in my head I could spend ages trying to find all the notes as opposed to just going right up to the proper position. Do any of you have any pointers as to where I should start ? Something preferably web based so I can acces it with my laptop rather than books. I have a metronome and simple drum samples that I can use in my Zoom 708II so I can practice for no end. I know some of you are very much in the subject of theory and technique and I know that ideally I should get a teacher but unfortunately financial circumstances are not permitting at the moment. Cheers in advance for any help :Di Jack
20. Here mine, it's a knocked up video from when we were recording our first demo...
21. You do have a point. Someone who doesn't look after their gear shouldn't have it no matter how hard they've worked to get it!
22. A price is a must my friend, that's the rules and it will also help you shift it
23. On a recommendation from another member on here I have been trying out the Stanley Clarke EBS wah and it sounds pretty cool, there's loads you can do with it but it won't be cheap
24.
Jacklondon - That board looks great. where did you get the sound reactive light from? Is it your design? I hope you're getting well paid for that board!
The lights can be bought here : http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=225581 I'm doing it free of charge however my guitarist is paying for all the parts etc. I'm doing it to see how it will last and perform in real gigging situation and if it works I might start making them for people! If you think about it the cost of this one up to date is £37.50 and it's only so high because of those lights and light-up fans that he wanted!
