Mandobird

I have a Thunderbird, crave for a Firebird and now I want one of these..... can't get enough of that shape.
3. The Guitarist in my band got a Tiny Terror and within a week he had to take it back to GAK for a replacement. It does sound fantastic though. If the bass version turns out to be more reliable then I well be very tempted.
4. Double Muff up for grabs again... White Finger Sold Pending......
5. I think a lot of people found this forum when they should have been working! Welcome
6.
Anyone else reckon muse's bassist is really good and makes awesome basslines.
He's good, that's for sure. I'd like to know how many of their bass lines he writes and how many Bellamy writes. Anyone know? I've got a few to learn this weekend: Dani California - RHCP I Bet That You Lood Good On The Dancefloor - Arctic Monkeys Toxic - Britney Spears I'm Yours - Jason Mraz
7.
Interesting comments, clearly many have issues with the shop and there seem to be a mix of constructive and unconstructive ones. Giving the weight to the later, I'm removing my post for risk of further inflaming the situation.
That's why you can't see his post. EDIT: beat me too it!
8. I emailed Trace regarding the age of my Series 6 a while ago, mine didn't have a serial number to go by so they suggested popping the cover off have having a look for date marked pots/circuit board/inspection sticker..... I think this is probably the easiest and quickest way of finding the age if you're unsure, it worked for me. Trace may also have the manual in pdf they can send you? Worth an ask at any rate, they can only say no.
9. I don't mind Vintage and Rare, they offer a good service to a particular part of market. In the past I've thought of it like this: just because I drive a car doesn't mean i can afford or want a vintage Bentley, sure it would be nice but there's no way i can afford it. I apply this to the basses and guitars I buy. EDIT: As for selling your bass via shops I think you have to take into account one of the things you pay for is exposure, how many people walk into V&R knowing that there might be something special in there? I know I have in the past and will do again. It's like eBay, sure the fees are high, but your listing has the potential to be viewed by millions of people. Only shops like V&R have the ability to filter that down to those who can afford the asking price. That, im my opinion, is one of their main advantages and one of the things the shop takes a cut for.
10. I bought a pedal from Jay recently and just wanted to say what an ace guy he is, totally accommodating and great with communication. Good luck with further sales mate!
11.
ya ill take a look at their my space page, they might turn up around waterford sometime, very good for live bands, good venues etc.Their was a great wexford band one time called cry before dawn, had some success but eventually broke up.
The good bands always split........ happy St. Patrick's Day!
12. I'd love this but all I have to trade is a '91 MM stingray - probably not what you're after!
13. I've been using the CX300's for a while now and have been thinking of trying something different... Etymotics ER6i look quite interesting, I'll be curious to see what else this thread kicks up.
14. What's the deal with all the pens in his shirt pocket? Makes me think of the gold stars McDonalds employees get.
15. Glad to see some love for Thunderbirds. Loads of people bang on about neck dive, I don't find it a problem and find it such a playable bass with a monstrous tone and as you said - it's got the looks to boot.
16.
Really. Cant say i heard of them though . Ya waterford is right long side wexford. The sunny south east. If only we had the sunny bit lol.
They're worth a ganders if you've got the time. Instrumental and effects laden guitar and bass noodelings of the highest calibre. I spoke to their bass player briefly after the show and he was a nice chap.
17. Hi guys and girls. Electro Harmonix Double Muff - Fuzz/ Overdrive Sold on eBay at the weekend.
18. I saw an Irish band called Adebisi Shank play in Brighton the other week. Blew my socks off, they are from Wexford which I think is fairly close to Waterford? Welcome!
19. Bonjour, love to see what your green precision looks like! I'm guessing a precision that's green?
20. Keep it, I love my one of these. The best bass I have owned.
21.
One thing I have notices when touring alot is the necks are very unstable. Every month I have complete setup the bass because the neck moves, and therefore I have to intonate etc. this pisses me off as my warwick rarely moves, didnt even wobble when I went from cold Bristol to sunny havana!!!
I have this problem with the neck on my 'Ray as well. Stick it in it's case for a week or two out of the way and it's bound to move. Because of it's unreliability and other factors that I've already mentioned in this thread, it's the only bass I have that I'd be happy to part with.
22. See my sig for my originals band. Plus 2 functions bands.
23. I don't think it's an secret these guys use one, all be it a DG20. I'm sure I've seen the DG20 go for around £250+ on eBay. I'd hold on to it.
