  1. We could. You'd still be wrong at the end of it, though 😄
  2. He could play with Neil Peart feeling. That isn't Charlie Watts feeling.
  3. The authority of the guy... astonishing.
  4. It is in the sense that is nuanced, and some people who think they have it... don't.
  5. We were talking about Neil Peart...? Let's not forget the drummer has to command the respect of Jagger, Richards and Wood whilst on stage. Something Ross McDonald from Ballachulish might struggle to achieve. ...never mind remembering not to hit the hat and snare at the same time.
  6. Freddie Gruber. As a result of which, NP switched to traditional grip for a bit, then got bored and reverted to matched. Still didn't swing.
  7. Yep. One thing Neil didn't do is swing.
  8. Neil was talking about the physical exertion. Which (as you know, presumably being a drummist) is only a small part of it.
  9. He could play the songs, but they'd sound sh1te. If you can't see that, I don't know what else to say. (Huge NP fan here, btw.)
  10. Patronising much? I'm not a drummer, but I also know there's a hell of a lot more to it than hitting things in time.
  11. I think you're wrong. They'll have chosen the dep very carefully. Neil P (bless him) certainly couldn't have done it, so in that sense it is hard to dep for Charlie.
  12. If you do a search, you'll find lots of info. Here's a recent thread.
  13. Nice one - thanks, Ped.
  14. Whoooah.. wind your neck in, bonny lad.
  15. Of course. But with regard to the post I was relying to, I wouldn’t want a terrible song to be my legacy. If I turned out to be a great songwriter, however…
  16. Pagination is still a little murky (sorry if this is already in-hand).
  17. Good stuff!
  18. I'd suggest that, rather than be remembered by a terrible song, it would be better to leave behind something behind that you're actually good at.
  19. Maybe for fixing the odd waver here and there, but... ...if it's to rescue the bulk of a performance, it's kinda like a keys player playing bass with the left hand to save getting a bass player in 😄
  20. Also, you've got to have faith in your original material. Absolutely bloody love it? Getting that feeling back from people who've heard it? Get it out there. Playing it 'cos it's nothing special, and people aren't that interested, but hey, it's original and that's what counts...? Maybe have a rethink.
  21. Seems to work for me...?
