  1. I can't agree. He's been a tool on occasion, but haven't we all?
  2. He writes some bloody good songs, tho.
  3. Cheers.. thank you! Slightly gutting to have to shoehorn hours of great footage into 60 minutes, but it's none the worse for it. And... 52m 48s 🙂
  4. Gentle nudge - 9pm, BBC Four (I even have a cameo role, but blink and you'll miss it). https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0011vbk
  5. Since OBBM jacked in, I use https://custom-lynx.co.uk.
  6. Sound crazy saying this, but it actually has a bit of a ‘Gone Fishing’ vibe in places, where you’re just eavesdropping in on conversation between old friends.
  7. Currently watching it and loving it. So intimate, and the direction (both then and now) is beautiful.
  8. If I lived anywhere near *checks notes* Saffron Walden and liked maple P's, I'd be all over that like green on beans.
  9. Always fancied a US Lakland P. Chris Squire's was a beaut.
  10. I'm lucky, I guess. I'm only in bands with organised, switched-on people which formed without relying on adverts like this 😄
  11. Here's another trailer for the BBC Four documentary wot I had a hand in. It's on BBC Four tomorrow at 9pm!
  12. You'll be telling me Mick'n'Keef don't drive themselves to gigs next.
  13. What? Really? You learn something new every day.
  14. "Ah, hello Mr. Palladino. No, you didn't get the gig. You hit reply on the post, didn't you? You idiot."
  15. I'm certainly not offended, but it doesn't sound like an environment I'd want to be part of. If he'd changed the wording slightly, maybe I would.* *Again, the gig isn't for me anyway, so it's a moot point Weekend warrior or not, if you told me you've never mis-read something in a hurry, I'd suggest you were being economical with the truth.
  16. I think we can agree that - at best - the approach is polarising.
  17. I'm aware that people are human, yes.
  18. Well done, you! I think quite a lot of us here will have done that too.
  19. Thing is, it's not aimed at me 'cos I would have emailed the guy as he requested. But then the last paragraph, would put me right off. From what I can see: He's helping some of the applicants he's trying to filter out, by pointing out exactly what they need to do to pass the first test He's putting off some some of applicants he's trying to attract, because of his attitude. Remind me again how this is a good approach? 😄 Interesting discussion, tho.
  20. I still feel it's a pretty arbitrary 'first test' for potential applicants. You'd think their personality and playing skills would be more of a deciding factor.
  21. I can't help thinking there's a lot of reliable players wouldn't respond to the ad based on the last paragraph, which is a shame - for both him and them.
  22. That's literally all that would have been required. The rest of it was completely unnecessary (IMO).
  23. When? When I posted this thread about it?
