1.
Comment D emailed to her is both presumptuous and overly harsh. Fair play to her for adding that gem of advice to the revised description - mind you, what can you do when you don't know much about the subject and an "expert" contacts you.
+1. People forget that eBay is full of real people. Sometimes they make real mistakes.
2. It's just a pimped MIM fretless J. Nothing special about it apart from the mods, really. £1000? Well, there's a fine line between optimism and stupidity / shadiness..
3.
Because these days ebay attracts a hell of a lot of idiots and if there are any problems you have no recourse or protection if you avoid paypal.
...but it's no different from buying something from Gumtree, an card in a shop window, an ad in your local paper, or any classified ad anywhere....?
4. I owned both of these, albeit a few years ago now. The EB felt like a real bass combo. The Five-Fifteen felt like a toy.
5. I'm confused... what's this thread about? Is it because the seller doesn't do PayPal? If it's collection only, why would you pay via PayPal anyway? C'mon... fill me in on the bit I'm not getting.
6. It seems my last post isn't totally accurate. Someone's been fibbing...
7. The Central is fab... it's a very funky place. I have a gig north of the river, or else I'd be there... have a great night!
8. Hello! Dunno if you've seen these... http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/epifani-...ies-2-a-563840/ http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/epifani-...-2-cabs-514881/
9.
I dont really have a problem with the foul language after the use of I think, Thats why I agree with Jake for pulling me on the first misquote and why I wouldnt edit it out. Directly attacking Golchen as a bad Christian is just wrong though even if Golchen isnt personally offended by it I can imagine others would be.
Why is it wrong? TNIT had a valid point (albeit harshly put), and Golchen had an open platform to come back.
10. People are constanty being offended on BC. I'd rather it didn't happen, but if it's going to I don't see why Christians should be tip-toed around.
11.
In fairness both amps were tried with 10" speakers alone so its not a bad test even as a Genz fan so fair play to the promethean but if the head were taken from the Genz (cant do that with a combo) and put into a full size cab which is the idea really to use it as a practice amp then you take a 2x10/2x12 or 4x10 to proper gigs and the shoe will be very much on the other foot, The Genz owner just has to buy an extra cab the Promethean owner needs an amp and a cab! Who's £150 is looking as good now? A Class D head (of personal brand taste) and a selection of cabs (of personal brand taste) is FTW IMO
*pssssst* The Promethean head can be removed in seconds....
12. It's worth bearing in mind that the Promethean is about £150 cheaper than the Genz, too. (I've never used the Genz, so I can't comment on it. I just know the Promethean is astonishing.)
13.
Yes, I do wish Geddy would retire the flamenco thing. It was a neat trick to start with but I do think his basslines have lost some of their appeal and impact post 1993. He still comes up with great lines, just without the wonderful busy sound he used to have with those awesome fills he could rattle off.
Exactly. I didn't mind so much until he started doing it in the older stuff, too... that great instrumental break in Between the Wheels, for example. He used to *play* it. Now it's flamenco-ised. Meh.
14.
Let's face it, Geddy gets amazing tone no matter what bass he plays, I think we'd all agree.
He used to... now he just does that 'danganaganganganganganganga...' flappy-finger thing most of the time. I wish he'd stop, but he just won't listen to me.
15.
There are a lot of people who swear by the BDDI, and a lot who say it's the worst thing since sliced sh*t (they get all emotional about their mids.)
ha ha.. I'm one of the latter.
16. All you people complaining about the MEN are lucky, really. You should come and see a band at the Newcastle Arena. 'See' being the crucial term, as all you'll hear is a rotten mush which might just as well be two hundred wild boars fornicating in an oversized Roses tin.
17. I'm desperately trying to fight it, but I fancy a PJ. Ideally this: But I quite like the idea of a custom build... That said, I have no money so unless I sell something it's a moot point.
18. Just watched this week's... I'm warming to the Unthanks slightly. Couldn't believe there was some fella on there doing a solo thing with a looper pedal, though. Is it still 2006?

22. I like Jools. Here's my favourite (non-later) Jools moment.
23. Nah... the tickets are just the wrong side of 'too expensive' for my pals & I. With heavy hearts, we're giving it a miss.
24.
lets hope this is the end of it for Gareth, its about time he had some good luck and im really looking forward to suing mine at its first gig on Sat.
Relax - mine's done loads, and it's fine.
