  1. Ah, it wasn't. My memory's playing tricks. Damn, I want that bass back.
  2. Actually, that's a good point. I'm fairly sure mine was embossed with a Fender logo.. but otherwise it was identical.
  3. It is - a deluxe case. They used to come with the Elites, amongst others.
  4. Fleetwood Macaroni cheese? Fleetwood Mackerel?
  5. I suspect there's probably more to this than 'We wanted to tour but he didn't. And he pulled faces behind my back.' Maybe LB just isn't a nice guy to be in a band with?
  6. I'm not sure how CS the CS is these days. They just seem a bit 'production line' to me.
  7. I love this album. Pretty gutted to have to shell out silly money to get the blu-ray.
  8. This is an interesting discussion. If we were to go back in time a couple of decades, to the days before Class D, when our Trace Elliots, GK's and such were 100w, 200w, etc., was measurement equally wooly, or was there more of a standard way to measure back then?
  9. The repro setlist is interesting, but... Who's Ladder? Is it the redneck hoedown version?
  10. I have no experience with the P3110, but the original P5110 was incredible - higher output, removable head. If you can find one of those around, snap it up.
  11. Yep, the mids are definitely where it’s at. The voicing of the Handbox is glorious in that regard.
  12. I've done a couple with him with the R-400.. it was mint šŸ™‚ And loud 😮
  13. I believe there's going to be a WB-100 at the South East bass bash this weekend...
  14. I didn't really know any of the tunes from the Rabin era apart from 'Owner', but the handful on the new live album are pretty good in an 80s stadium way. I've never thought of Steve Howe as scrappy - I think pretty much everything he plays has a point melodically or texturally, and his folk / roots / country influences really shine through to give it warmth. The opposite to, say, Alex Lifeson (speaking as a big Rush fan, btw). I think Rabin generally does a good spin on SH's parts - I thought he'd throttle them in a flurry of notes, but no. Incidentally, I just realised last night that poor Rick doesn't get a single writing credit on the new live record / DVD. A bit of an eye-opener, that.
  15. Yeah, the applause is odd but I can switch off to it. What a band, man.. fantastic.
  16. Thread revival. I've just picked up the ARW Blu-Ray thingy and it's bloody great. The performances, visuals and mix are marvellous. That is all.
  17. Give them a good rub down with an old cotton t-shirt . See if that helps.
  18. I'm not hearing any bass on that. That's synth, that is.
  19. A clean boost pedal is just going to hit the pre harder. I doubt it will give more workable volume on a head like the WA. More sensitive cabs will work, definitely. But my TKS is pretty sensitive, and I was hitting the rails on my WA a little earlier than I’d like.
  20. The OP mentions more output as a requirement. How would a pedal achieve that..?
  21. All fair points. re: the former, Leszek seems a reasonable sort. The middle point? Yep, I guess it's a leap of faith (which I personally wouldn't have regretted but YMMV). The latter..? It's not, but then again it's not mass-produced on a production line in Taiwan (mind you, it's actually the same price as some of these :-D).
  22. (Apologies - I've already posted this on the WB-100 thread) It looks like the R-400 has been given a facelift. Colleya has pointed out (on the other thread) that the clips for the lid are recessed now, so it looks like it'll stand on its end without toppling over now šŸ™‚
  23. Ooh, I just noticed that... good spot! It'll save me a bit of heartache, too. And I've just noticed I've posted this on the wrong thread. I'm a divvy.
  24. The all-tube is wonderful - it just sounds bigger than the R-400. I was actually saving to buy it, but someone beat me to it (lucky for them!). In the meantime, I'm back with the R-400 and I'm in love with it, but the touch-sensitive draw of the WB-100 will probably win eventually. Truth is, I would (and have been) smitten with both, which I guess is a credit to the preamp.
  25. How come? They have couriers in Poland šŸ™‚
