  1. Limelight, anyone...?
  2. I would probably have liked Marillion more than I do, but I just can’t get past the drummer. All of his fills sound like he’s tripped over his kit. Max respect to them for doing what they do, though.
  3. Looking forward to seeing it on Monday...
  4. Lovely! What's the weight?
  5. My inbox is creaking under the weight of mailshots from dealers desperately trying to big up Fender's latest overpriced & underwhelming offering. Who the heck is in their focus groups?
  6. Two things: 1 - Don’t be so insulting to the rest of the country. It’s not a cultural vacuum outside of the M25. 2 - Don’t be so insulting to other Basschatters. Learn to make a point without relying on barbs. Thank you.
  7. I hear ya. At 40-something, I'm busier than I've ever been - which is a good thing - but it's taking its toll.
  8. Sorry to hear of your trauma. Thankfully none of the above fall into that category.
  9. I think we're used to amps with baked-in EQ curves, so relatively speaking it might seem like it. According to the tone plot, it's relatively flat.
  10. ...and they sounded awseome.
  11. I'm not sure if these have been mentioned already, but GHS Precision Flats are beautiful. I believe Lakland used to rebadge them as their own, which is how I got into them. Similar to La Bella FLs, but with (IMO) a little more in the mids. Musik Produktiv do them for about £38 posted. I love 'em.
  12. What bass and cabs are you using? Bear in mind the response of the amp is pretty much flat, so whatever the bass is putting in, is going to be well reflected in the out. Presumably you haven’t got ‘bright’ engaged, and you’re using flat at a starting point..? One way to take out a bit of the high mids would be to dial in a little bit of the contour. I was a long-time Mpulse / WA user, and while the EQ is far more flexible, I found myself mostly using it to try and put the mids back in. Either way, I hope you manage to sort it after a bit more tinkering. I don’t like a toppy sound, but it’s perfect for me just left flat or thereabouts - it’ll be interesting to hear how you get on!
  13. Ha! No - just lots of past experience buying from TKS, Maruszczyk and HB 🙂
  14. Just curious - What are you missing / struggling with?
  15. ^^^ very good advice. FWIW, here’s my Transferwise affiliate link which means you won’t pay for the first £500 of your first transfer. (Other transfer providers are available, etc.)
  16. Another WB-100 clip from a mini-bash this week. Nice big room, so we just wound up the input and turned it up...
  17. Maybe roll the bass back a bit..!
  18. This is just after it was decorated, before I finished moving everything back in...
  19. I find it's the opposite for for a simpleton like me. I leave it all flat, and BOOM! It's perfect! ha ha.
  20. Err... dunno. Calling @cd_david who will be able to confirm.
  21. Myself and @cd_david spent a couple of hours this afternoon in the company of a '72, a couple of '73's and a '78. The verdict? They're all fantastic.
  22. You're going to love it! I made a little vid this afternoon of what it's like when it's turned up REALLY loud...
  23. Noooooo! Fingers crossed for ya...
  24. ..oh, and the song at the end is just something without any bass that I pinched from Wikiloops.
