2. all white fender strat as a trade? (with case) ?
 3.
You could always put it down to Trace Elliot.Big ,fat ,heavy and awkward. Tell him he should know better if he's a gigging bass player. Oh, and he never even watched your set? Rude , but not uncommon. You could tell Facebook that
that's just rude young man, I could go on but, naa
 4.
It's O.K to still be angry, my friend. I would be, too. Use that anger to motivate you into making vindictive and petty acts of vengence, even if it is on people who had nothing to do with the original incident. I am still angry about someone who chipped the finish on my Jazz Bass in 1984 when I had left it at the guitarists house I was rehearsing with , and then lied about it , so I share your pain. If and when I run into the fella again , I will be bringing the subject up in a very forthright and aggressive manner, regardless of the consequences.
Thanks D! I feel I'm not alone in irrational (given the time space) grudges. you have made a curmudgeonly old sod feel marginally better. and for that I thank you
 5. wow that's a nice piece of kit congrats
 6. A band I was in in the 90's were supporting the New fast automatic daffodils ( some minor success around that time) and I got to the sound check to see their bass player using my stingray as there was a "problem" with his battered ( & frankly shyite Jazz) the tour manager said it was ok "forgetting " to as me!! I was FU**IN' Furious!! he took me to another room to calm me down. what's worse we'd done a few other gigs with them as part of a tour and their bass player (I use the term loosely ) Justin, never said a single word to me (I don't care about name and shame) not a single word. tos*er. it was only Icarus the percussion player who was apologetic and bought me a few "Calm Down" beers at the end of the night. I'm still angry about it to this day (I know..but I am!)
 7. I believe he had the foresight and admirable sense to "chin" Sean(a bit smug and not that funny)Hughes, after his "never mind the Buzzcocks" appearance Nothing more Geezer like Good man
 8.
I've not heard any NIN before but that was simply awful. Obviously not my cup of tea
what was awful? I love Pino's playing he cant do wrong for me and I loved that stuff
 9.
I didn't get that one.
good.
 10.
Much nicer than Elixirs mate, which I found to feel a bit rubbery and plasticky, and a bit flaky. I forget the Cleartones are coated, they are bright and snarly, and I've had no problems at all using picks. They also keep their brightness for a long time. They feel smoother than normal stainless rounds.
thanks for that Nigel may well give 'em a go then

 12. are they likea
Listen mate, you need to do what I do. Use coated strings (I use Cleartone and they last for f***ing ages) and play wearing a pair of black silk gloves from Jasmine Silk. They look a lot better than you do standing with an old pan by the Aga explaining to your mrs that proper Italian spaghetti is supposed to look like that.
are they like Elixir strings Nige? (I Have the same issue) in that I can "Kill"a new set of strings within minutes like Painy says because of acidic sweaty fingers (yuk, sorry) I have however found that Elixir strings have lasted for a year on my acoustic guitar, and still sound bright. do you know if they work so well for bass guitar? I like that zing of new strings!!
 13.
It's beginning to look like some musicians won't get out of bed unless they're being paid for it.
a few of the musicians I know wont get out of bed...... no, that's it, they wont get out of bed, that is all.
 14. Prefab Sprouts "when love breaks down" is undoubtedly their finest hour. TUNE!! you tube it because it'll do you good gentlemen.
 15. I'll buy them off you if you want Marcus (at that price) or swap for some d'darios stainless steel jobs same gauge single ball end, same gage (going to have a look for them now to check!!) they will fit a stingray, or chop down for a status. (just never tried hotwires is all and would like to try d.b.end ones) ATB, W
 16.
Trace Elliot gear kinda makes your bass sound like are playing it wearing mittens and a crash helmet. Rob
sheeyittee
 17. Trace Elliot all the way for me and still to this day, I love that stuff and have amassed a bit of (small) collection. when I worked in Corfu for a summer season in 1987 the bar where we were resident provided a Carlsbro Stingray 1x15 combo as back line, the swines!! ( while my Trace gp11 1x15 combo sat at home in Blighty) it was without doubt the worst WORST amp I have ever encountered....ever. practically reducing me to tears of frustration trying to get some sort of acceptable sound out of it but no, never happened. what a horrible thing it was, I'd love to see it again just so I could "smite its Fekin' head in with an axe"......and breathe......breathe.....
 18. http://youtu.be/NuAegOQ7KSE gotta be a stingray ( Good Journey Alan)

 20. I know some of you will have see this but for those of you who haven't, but Sean Eric Walsh (?!?) he's either been stood near an open glue pot for too long by mistake or is related to Ross Noble. pricelessly funny. http://youtu.be/XR3kJ1qVWdU
 21. I play in a covers band nowadays because (I'm a chicken in his late forties called "Colin") a bit older, and use a pick on some tunes, because the guy on the original recording did, and that's what makes it sound "right" (imagine playing most Jam tunes without one?) if I were, as I was years ago, in an original material band, & so it was my choice I NEVER did, and was a bit "sniffy" about the whole thing. these days some times I like the really aggressive attack of a Pick. ( I just feel a bit "dirty" when I use a pick despite its occasionally pleasing sound ) also, I have noticed a few extra "bobbing heads" with the pick bass note/ bass drum combination at gigs. so what I'm really saying is I haven't a clue what I think!!
 22.
Why does the drummer get a solo? Drummer know thy place! Who does he think he is!
probably to break up the dullardness!!
