1. I'm in Rochdale,Lancashire I was looking for a cash thing, really. So price is (only sort of) negotiable cos its a good 'un why what are you thinking? A? please don't start the sentence with the word "fender" Ha Ha!
2. Hi, guys, I know initially without pictures, this is a disappointing thread, but go with me . I want to move on a Trace Elliot gp7 250w 2x10 combo and a 1x15 cab as a package they are matching in the sense of being the green carpet covered jobs and are both in very good condition. I can get Pics up next week as they are stored at work and its half term, but I thought I'd put the Idea out there first. any one interested? thanks W
3. Thanks for the amp Stuart, if Carlsberg did all Basschat deals they'd go this way. best comms, packaging and a gift that you didn't have to do. a gentleman a scholar and an acrobat (only older BCers will get that ref ) suffice to say one of the best Bcers I've encountered. good Man.
4.
i enjoyed that a lot!
same here ace.
5. Yes, I suppose it is don't see why not. Its a GP12 (just noticed typo!)
6. SOLD PENDING... To fund the Purchase of something else, I'm putting this up or sale. few "dings and marks" consistent with a gigged but solidly reliable piece of kit. would like to move it on soon hence reasonable price. Thanks W
7. I'm not the most internet savvy bloke in the world but Stuart was the most patient and agreeable bloke, he really made a purchase of a Trace head easy ( and with a nice chat) a very pleasant experience. A highly trusted and valued member of this community if you as me (If anyone does ask me HA !) Top man pleasure doing business and chatting mate!
8. don't misunderstand by "edge" I meant yours sounded better (a bit!!)
9. Hi Andy, just wanted to say when I was getting my KB of MB1 .....sorry mate, I have to be honest, its the right thing to do, I had a fiddle your Bird too. ( the lights sold it to me thought I thought yours had a slight "edge" sound wise, but I wanted the lights their so shiny!!) glad you're enjoying it and that you are PLAYING!! again good man! W
10.
whether it's true or not he still managed to play ok, I see they're doing even more dates this year, yet another never to be repeated last chance to see the original line up lol, Rossi couldn't have thought it sounded that bad, perhaps he changed his mind when he heard the recording compared to the gutless stuff the new line up churn out
I think the "new" line up that has being going (by my maths) longer than the old one is much better and I agree with Frank R. John Edwards is a better player than Alan Lancaster. thats not a revelation surely? when people, for example compare J Jamerson to Pino Palladinos version of his lines for example..... its just not the same, you don't need this explaining do you? different levels of virtuosity. James and Pino have an "understanding". Edwards and Lancaster...Edwards "understands " Lancaster.. it its very different. and its not just three notes (BTW)
11. A friend of mine works at a venue Original Quo played in the north of England. This person says of Quo/A.L. ( no reason to doubt) that they sent out from the dressing room for "superglue to glue his Pick to his fingers as he couldn't hold it" and that Alan looked "Frail" sounds unlikely but they swear its true. Gaffer taped fingers pictures reminded me of this story and started to wonder ( just saying)
12. I have this one from/thanks to MB1 Andy its a good bit of kit. I use it a lot but then again I'd guess you'd approve of that.
13. Xilddx is someone I always thought I'd bump into in Camden town on his way to a gig! do you know what I mean? I hope that happens one day.( I want to shake that man by the hand having heard him play) we all chat but rarely meet up but when it happens unexpectedly its a great little moment. (those of you who know, for instance, MB1 will know what a great bass moment that is... he REALLY knows his stuff but I consider him a good friend anyway) any one else you think you'd like to meet ? keep it positive please! Ha!!
14. I happened on "Tricky" at a rehearsal studio on Thursday night and generally shot the breeze with him,WOW! the man knows his Sh*T . its nice to meet people face to face innit? and have that BC connection. rehearsal was delayed while we chatted and he helped me out with an acoustic guitar loan for part the evening which (I'd guess) he probably wouldn't have done if it weren't for this place. what a truly nice gentleman. just saying is all. any other happy encounters? why doesn't my "enter/space bar" work BTW?
15. Flats, yuk, hate 'em. good luck, though!! just an opinion (that loads of BCers don't agree with)
16. that Trace amp is great Bob, and going great guns ( I know it was a while ago !) but just thought about feedback. Topman great coms and good all round bassschat on meeting up.Highly Recommended.
17.
The Precision is the Ford Transit van. Might not be perfect for all applications but it will do the job, and all of us at some point have used or benefited from one.
that's really the truest thing ( and I don't like P's but I had one, and it helped me out big time )
