1.
Drop of clear nail varnish on the top of the screw so it flows into the thread. If you already have some then clear touch up car lacquer used in the same way.
Many thanks, I'll give it a whirl ;-)
2. Hi all All in the title really. Does anybody have any tips or tricks to stop a bridge grub screw from rattling in its saddle? It's as if the screw has gone slack. Cheers

Bought a Barefaced Compact from Al. Bomb proof packaging, fast delivery and cab in immaculate condition, exactly as described. Trade with confidence. Many thanks again ;-)
4. Just sold my Fender Precision to Lozz. Nice 'coffee and a chat' type motorway services meet up. Cracking fella and lovely to meet. Trade with confidence. Enjoy the bass ;-)
5. Hi all I'm moving on my gorgeous black beauty Fender Precision. It's not being played at the moment so it's got to go. It's a 2010 US Standard in great condition. With a gloss finish fretboard, it has an incredibly low action, plays like butter and sounds like thunder! There are some minor indentations on the back of the body and also a couple on the front, but nothing that has broken through the paint. The scratch plate also has some visible swirling etc. I bought this bass from Pestie last year and it's for sale at the same price I paid for it (which for me is not nearly enough, but hey ho). Comes complete with SKB Fender hard shell case and case candy. I believe it has also been owned by another couple of BCers who will vouch for it's quality. The first person to try this bass really will fall in love with it. Would prefer collection/meet up. I'm based just outside Doncaster, 10 minutes from A1 junction 36. Cheers
6. I've had a Marshall Bass 12 for more years than I care to remember and it does the job really well. You can pick them up for £20-£25
7.
For classic rock sound select preshape 2 with the preshape button on.This takes out the graphic but in most situations it isn't required.Set low end cop at 10-12 and high end at 8.Then use the eq balance for tone depending on room. Works well for me and bass players always complement me on the tone/cut.Using a P bass deluxe and a Eden Nemesis 4 x 10 cab Iain
. Exactly this. Preshape 1 sounds great for noodling in the bedroom but for live performance just set it to preshape 2 and alter the EQ balance to suit. It never fails to sound great. Cuts through like nothing else 😎
8.
Just back from Jon Shuker after having the neck lacquered in a nice vintage tint. it's difficult to photograph but if you seen a Classic Ray then it's the same tint as that. Jon's done an outstanding job, it plays as good as it looks.
Very nice 😎
9. I've just posted this on in the Wal appreciation thread but it'd be a shame not to post it here too. From last nights gig.
10. The new love of my life on it's first outing at our gig last night......... It sounded fantastic
11. Ooh that's going to sound superb (and rather loud) 😎

16. Sold my Barefaced Super 12 to Phil. Great communications, met up and had a coffee and a good old natter. Top BassChatter. Deal with confidence ;-) All the best Phil and don't forget to give me a bell if you ever need a pick up in South Yorkshire. Cheers
17. It's no good. I've realised that I'd sooner be without a kidney than be without a Stingray. The Honeyburst is soon to be off to a new good home and I've decided to keep the Tobaccoburst. Happy New Year All
18. Thanks Scott I'm well thanks, hope you are too. Honeyburst 'ray now on hold pending the usual. [s]Tobaccoburst still for sale[/s]
19. Hi all Due to a rather impromptu impending purchase off BC (not the one I was originally going to make this Christmas) I am selling one of (possibly both) of my Stingrays. Strictly sale only, no trades thanks [s]First up: Price: £700 Tobacco Sunburst D.O.B. April 2007 Ash body Maple board Black plate 3 band eq Original MM hard shell case Purchased from BC earlier this year, this bass has been very well looked after by it's former owner and is in almost mint condition. The only fault is a small chip on the front between the scratch plate and the lower horn. This has been penned in with a suitable shade of brown marker pen and is pretty much unnoticeable unless you're up real close and looking at an angle.[/s] [s]Next up: Price: £700 Honeyburst D.O.B. April 2005 (old style nut) Ash body Rosewood board Black plate 3 band eq Original MM hard shell case This bass again is in gorgeous condition. There are a couple of minor dings on the lower bout and bottom that you can 'feel' (slight indentations) but nothing you can actually see.[/s] ## Honeyburst 'ray now on hold pending the usual ## Both basses play beautifully and sound immense, the maple board 'ray sounding slightly brighter than the rosewood to the discerning ear, but both full of power. I have loads of photos so please PM me your email address and I'll send some over (please note the white one is sadly no longer mine)! At least one of these will have to go, possibly both depending on interest. I'm near Doncaster and would prefer collection/meet up. Cheers
