1. Somebody please buy this, otherwise I could do something stupid!
2. Hello! Got this beast in a trade but after toying with it for a while, I'm selling it as I don't need it (already have 5 cabs!). https://www.gak.co.u...owerhouse/24953 As you can see it used to retail for almost £700. I'm after £430 plus shipping. It's in great conditions, only a few light scratches on the angle protectors but no rips in the tolex and works perfectly. Not interested in trades, sorry.
3. If shipping wasn't that expensive I'd get it for my 427!
4. SOLD ELSEWHERE. Hello! I got this bad boy from its second or third owner. Made in 1988, pretty rare year for 5ers. Still have the early features (slotted headstock and tilted tuners with plastic rings on the front). EMGs, usual MEC 2 bands preamp. Completely stock apart from a few small screws, freshly strung with Warwick 45-105s stainless. It's in very good conditions for its age, some wear around the neck pickup as usual but not easy to capture in a picture. Everything works as it should. The bass isn't lightweight, of course... probably 5kg or so. Comes in a G&G case. £1600 plus shipping. Not interested in trades, sorry! Can ship worldwide by UPS. Have several high-res pictures available.
5. No pics?
6. TH350, ProTube and Eden cab still here.
7. Nope... I had an offer from a guy but shipping costs to remote areas were too high. Still available!
8. Reidmar sold locally.
9. For small jams into a very small place I got a €99 Harley Benton P-bass ('51 model) and fitted a MM-style pickup on it. Sounds as good as any P-bass stile in the €500 league... I think a pickup swap is always in order when you buy one of these basses.
10. Turpentine to clean the gunk, lemon (or similar) oil to polish it and keep it from cracking. Wax also works but is much more tiresome to apply and polish.
11. I played three, of thee different periods: an early one with EMGs, a pretty old one fretless and a "modern" 4. The old one sounded like it was made of rubber... but looked nice. The fretless one sounded pretty good but hated the electronics and the action was poor, not sure if it was because of too many fingerboard dressings or bad hardware fitting. The modern one was disappointing... and the dealer confirmed "Yeah, we only carry a couple of them each year as we sell them to local pros". I like the design, though, and like the fact they're not clones. But they're too expensive for being CNC made instruments IMHO. The old ones (not exactly sure 'til what year) were hand crafted and looked really weird (in a positive way, at least to me). They seem to hold their value pretty well, though, so not a bad deal if you like it enough to justify the pricetag. Strange the guy didn't get back to you, though... maybe he's away for holidays.
12. Hello! Started collecting amps once again but always without any hope of using them outside my house... so I'm putting a few up for sale. Eden XLT 112", monitor cab, 200w/8ohm USA made. Speakon added to the original 1/4" jack input. Pretty light (15-16kg?). Very small footprint if used "straight". €250. Warwick ProTube IV - great conditions with flight case. rated at 450w but veeeery loud, absolutely noise-free. Great for both live and studio applications. Lots of bells 'n whistles on this one. €320. Shipping isn't included, ask for shipping quotes. I'm in Italy.
13. Hello! Kept the beast for a while but even if I just love the sound, it doesn't make sense for home use. It sounds just massive on my 2x12" but honestly, sounds amazing even thru small cabs. Wonderful piece, very rare (never seen another one for sale used). UK made, limited edition. Retails for €3650 in Europe, $4000 in the USA. http://musicnow.com....tube-bass-head/ http://ashdownmusic....27-Small-Block/ 8 KT88s, huge output transformers, JJ valves. Works with all impedances (8, 4 and 2ohm). Fender Bassman style preamp, passive controls on the huge power section of the BTA 400. Of course this animal needs live work, it's just a huge waste for what I do (playing at home). In fact it's completely stock, still has the original hangtag, not a scratch on it. I owned from new, for 2 years or so. I don't need the money but I thought I could maybe trade it for something I could use more (a bass or two, smaller stuff... whatever). I can ship within Europe but to Russia as UPS seems to not take stuff there, unfortunately. If interested in a straight sale, make me an offer.
14. I have the "monitor-shaped" version of the cab (older 200w version) and sounds great for its size. One hand lift too.
15. Looks lovely. Shame I never had a chance to try one.
16. Sold locally but could still sell the other one (modified).
17. Yeah, it's a very nice old-school cab that sounds detailed and bright even without a tweeter.
