1. Yep, no Wengé on CITES lists for now. But a few qualities of Bubinga, yes.
2. I had a few 2003s, 2005 etc. and they're totally different. I hear that the "recent" standard is high again but a bass like this would retail for €3800, if I remember correctly. And this one has the cool feature of being made before the Wall fell, I guess
3. Different specs, pickups and the 1006 is made in Korea while the TRB2 was made in Japan if I remember correctly.
4. Bought this rare beauty from the original owner who ordered it from Warwick in 1989. He didn't want a lined fretless but asked for small marks on front and they did a good job. Always used with flats, so the fingerboard is perfect. Completely stock, it's missing the truss rod cover but I could make a new one out of ebony for free (Warwick charges €35 for that!). One ding on the back (not easy to see unless in the right light) keeps it from being spotless. Original Warwick gig bag. £2450 plus shipping. Not interested in trades, honestly. This is the only one of its kind I've seen in 21 years of playing! For sale on other sites too.
5. Looks like a TRB 1006 to me... but I might be wrong.
6. Hello! Sure, I ship worldwide all the time. USA, Australia, Japan... no worries. Within Europe of course it's cheaper... €50 or so (UPS).
7. Checked, it's 4.3kg according to my luggage scale.
8. I can check but they're usually around 4kg (the 4 strings) and 5 for the fiver (makes sense!).
9. LOL. Yes, those battery covers aren't sturdy... but this one is fine. No works needed, ready to roll.
10. Hello! As you can see, pretty rare bird. 1989 is my favorite year for the Thumb bass: slotted peghead but without those ugly plastic rings on the tuners, nice woods, 2 pieces bridge instead of the Schaller 3D, EMG pickups, slim neck and figured woods. Passive push-pull on the volume pot. Very clean example and heavily figured body. Freshly set-up with 40-100s. Ships in a hardcase or (if you prefer) a crappy Warwick bag. Shipping is €50 or so within Europe. I use UPS. PayPal is fine, bank wire transfer is even better. Have feedbacks here and on ebay (100% rating). No trades, sorry. I'm pretty firm on the price but if you want, feel free to send me an offer.
11. But with a solid top and back you could go for a lighter finish. Anyway, if you want to keep the "solid" color I guess that you could simply fill the old routing with wood and automotive "sealant" and route again.
12. Oh ok, I thought you wanted a bigger "restoration plan". But you'll have to refinish the body anyway... and it's not cheap.
13. I don't know this series but if you have binding on front and back, of course you'd have to replace it and would be a mess. Otherwise you could shave 6mm on both sides and round the sides... always a matter of taste. But the new top would be the best solution as it would allow a transparent finish and a cleaner job. You could even do a top/back job with an exotic wood, for example. Wouldn't be too hard to do and in that case, binding would go away on both sides LOL.
14. I'd have the body planed to put a new top on it (6mm or so thick). In this way you have a blank canvas for your new pickups needs.
15. Great price for a great cab. I owned two, miss them but luckily for me, I'm too far away to buy it LOL.
16. This kinda confirms that the 427 is a limited edition 400w of the CTM. They told me the preamp was based on a "Classic bass preamp, that lots of pros used in the studio".
17. Today I sold my GP12X preamp and Peavey IPR power amp and the guy took a picture of the 427 LOL 'cause he thought it was just too cool and wanted to show the picture to his musician friends. It is cool and sound massive but... absolutely no use for me.
18. Still here, LOL. I know I'll never sell it, too big and too expensive. But I'll give it a shot anyway.
19. I have the 427... not sure it's exactly the same, but it's 400w. It's a beast of an amp, as you can guess. I never used it outside my house, though, so it's up for sale. But if I had a gigging band, I wouldn't change it for anything else.
20. Dave Pushic. It's pretty well known in the USA.
21. Up for sale a pretty sweet '96 Fortress Masterman 5. Wengé neck and fingerboard, Maple body (figured) with original red finish. Some checking (age related), the neck is perfect and wonderful... thin and good sounding. I'm after €660 plus shipping. No trades. If interested in a shipping quote please drop me a line with your postal code and I'll find out. Payment by bank wire transfer but could consider PayPal too.
22. Do you have a straight picture of the whole front?
