I took the bridge off and splayed the end, as well as took a piece of sandpaper to it. Screwed it all back together and the buzzing only reduced a little. I will take the scratchplate off tommorow to check the solder.

The buzz seems to be getting slightly worse, but I just took my bass out and it doesn't buzz just a speaker noise when you get your ear close. How do I check the grounding of a P-bass?

Mine doesn't really move.

I know this is most likely my crappy bass, it being a 5 year old Vintage P-Bass that most of the controls on it are broken. But I have been listening to my amp and you only notice it if your quite there is a slight static pop when I touch the strings, is this just the bass being poop/what 15" speakers do, or is there something going on? BTW my amp is an Ashdown 250 head and the cab is a Trace 1153. I can only hear it close up, I am just a bit concerned about it extending.

Its the tone not the brand.

It is good gear, I use English Ashdown and it sounds great and the quality is there. The chinese stuff still sounds great, but the reliability has been a problem. I haven't heard many problems with the ABM range though, they seem to put those together pretty well. What you need to do is goto a music shop and play with them, see if you like them and then buy them. You may want to look on this forum though to find UK made ABM as the 'real' Ashdown is in those.

Badass bridges are great, just keep your original one for if you have to sell it.

It has been going strong for 6 years.

Ashdown MAG 250 head -> OBBM Speaker Cable -> Pre-Gibson Trace Elliot 1153 I have only really just got it all, it is very nice indeed!

Their price is now £1600, ruddy economy.
