1. £30 delivered. Taken from my old E-series MIJ Fender and now surplus to requirements. Natural 'patina' as expected for items approx 30 years old!
2. Heard this today, I reckon it qualifies! http://youtu.be/wn-tpuhQgrY
3.
I believe the keyboard player writes the songs, but they are all credited so they share the royalties. Very generous of him.
I am mistaken then. Tim Rice-Oxley is a talented bloke. I once heard that the Drummer was the main songwriter in Kaiser Chiefs and the reason their popularity dwindled so quickly is because he left the band. I'm too lazy to google and tbh I don't care enough. They seemed a one album wonder from my perspective anyhow.
4. They've been hammering this on radio 2. It's a great song, but I don't know if the nod towards Ordinary World about 1:30 in is intentional? He was the main songwriter in Keane unless I'm mistaken, who wrote some great songs. He's a talented bloke alright. http://youtu.be/JugGmkvhsKQ
5. Do you find they feel a little more supple as well? I'm not talking a huge difference, but they are noticeably stiffer.
6. Don't know in all honesty, although the music shop seems legit. 'Manns Music'. TBH they match other people's description of fender flats- growly, punchy, gritty feeling. I expect that to get better with a few months playing in- it hasn't yet- but the tension is confusing me.
7. Anyone else a fan of Fender flats? Perhaps you can help me answer something that's bugging me. I have a set on a P bass that are roughly a year old, bought new from the basschat marketplace. They sound and feel great. Thumpy, enough mids and highs and sustain to not sound 'dead', with just enough of that flatwound 'boing' that I like. Feel is smooth and buttery, and the tension is medium. I bought a new set back in June, via eBay from a music store, and I'm convinced they are not the same string. They feel gritty, the sound is more high mids with more attack, and the tension is noticeabley higher. I'm was hoping the feel and sound is a case of them not being as played in as the other set, but I can't explain the increase in tension? They are both 9050L so same gauges. I much prefer the old set, so have Fender changed their strings and if so, which of mine are the newer formula so to speak?
8. Feeler post for my RS212.... I've had this cab for 3 years, and it's never let me down. It's in good condition- not perfect- it has a few scratches on the sides, and a bit of wear to the bottom (these cabs don't have feet!) but nothing out of the ordinary, just battle scars from regular gigging. These cabs are great. They are medium weight (new speakers but solid construction) and easy enough to lug about. Not a one-hand job like my old BF compact, but easy for one person to throw in the back of their car. I'm interested in a trade for another 2x12, a 2x10 (preferably 4ohm), or two matched 12" cabs. Must be fairly lightweight! Be interested to hear offers via PM. I don't really have a spare cab to use, so I'm really just looking for a trade. Postage might be necessary, unless you are near to Cornwall!
9. If you feel like someone just hit you in the chest with a pillow, that's punch.

11. Bump. Original box, power supply, valve compressor.
12.
Hi Wan, no, the tuners are not direct replacement and new holes had to be drilled. These would show if the original tuners were remounted. Cheers, Alan.
...which you wouldn't want to do, as Res-o-lites are awesome.
13.
This is a great fuzz pedal. Tons of low-end, and a wonderfully warm creamy fuzz which morphs into a grindy fuzz as you crank it. If you want a vintage vibed fuzz which doesn't have that clippy synthy sound that a Muff has, this could be it. I bought this and the overdrive pedal when they first came out and have hung on to this ever since. It's in reasonable condition given its age, no marks of any note but obviously looks used. Here's a great vid where they side-by-side it with a Frantone Peach Fuzz, of which this pedal was supposedly a clone of; http://youtu.be/KJiMXci6PAg These V1 cool cats are sought after and rightly so, this is a great fuzz pedal and it wouldn't be for sale if I didn't need the cash! Hence it will go up for £40 plus P&P and if I get no takers it will likely get kept. I believe I still have the box too, but I'll confirm tomorrow when I get the pics. Pics to follow, but you know what they look like right?
Bump- still have box and Danelectro sticker inside!

15. Bump. Happy to put on hold til payday for any prospective buyers.
16.
Adam Clayton. Perfect for his music
There it is! I came on to comment how no-one had mentioned Adam Clayton yet. He is Marmite in these conversations. For me, Jeff Ament's playing in some of the Pearl Jam covers I played was a bit of a surprise. He definitely took a smidge of influence from Rocco and that fast staccato-style playing. See 'Porch' for an example. I always liked Will Carruthers simple yet melodic lines, but he doesn't get much of a mention round here even though he covers a lot of ground. Krist Novoselic was definitely underrated. I think he became the forgotten one between Cobain's genius songwriting and Grohl's thunderous drumming. In reality, Grohl is an overrated, albeit very good drummer (Well I'd rather listen to him drum than play guitar and sing any day of the week), for all his talent Cobain was a pretty basic guitarist, yet it was Novoselic who provided the melodic fundamental of an awful lot of Nirvana's work. Lounge Act being a personal favourite. And I always zone-in on Roger Glover's playing on old Deep Purple LP's, although he does pail in comparison to JPJ.
17. Bought from this very forum back in April, now surplus to requirements. Great sounding valve-driven preamp pedal that have a solid reputation on this forum, handmade by Dave Hall in Devon. Wonderful grind from the valve and a versatile pre, including mid-sweep ('Q'), toggle switches for 'Colour', 'Bright' and 'Boost', plus a studio quality DI. Selling for what I paid adamg67, £100, which I thought was cheap. This will include postage to UK. This is the mk1 pedal, but has been overhauled and upgraded by Dave Hall himself to include the headphone circuit of the mk2 pedal, so basically you can plug a pair of headphones into this and have a silent rehearsal, which I'm sure will go down well with the neighbours The XLR socket appears to have been replaced at some point with a non-original unit but it works great. Comes with 12v power supply. More details on these pedals here: http://www.davehalla....uk/page29.html

19.
In view of Chilliw's which is from the view point of many examples, I'll say that I don't think they are worth the money. My Custom shop is a plank...
Fiver?
20. Yep, forget it. It's really hard to keep a wayward drummer between the lines. I've had to play with a few that speed up, and slow down, and slowing down is far worse. Feels like your trying to run in treacle. I've played with a few drummers where the timing is just shaky, as you say. It's not 'on point', although it may not actually slow down or speed up during the course of the song they tend to be out of time with themselves. By far the worst I've had is a drummer that just keeps changing the pattern. The timing was one thing, but the actual pattern drifted around as they got excited- for example (use your imagination here!) BOOM-TACK, BOOM BOOM TACK, BOOM TACK, BOOM BOOM TACK would become BOOM BOOM TACK, TACK BOOM TACK, BOOM TACK, BOOM TACK BOOM TACK Totally and utterly mind-drillingly irritating. Of course, the guitarist that likes to get stuck in thinks it's my fault when it all starts drifting about. As far as he's concerned, the drummer is just giving it a push. Anyways, we sacked him. (Hopefully the BOOM TACK makes sense! )
