2.
The links will still work... Everyone can link and read. What has been proposed is that member who I've made less than 50 posts are unable to post a thread in the eBay forum. This is to avoid the larger number of people that join the forum, post a link to thier eBay sale and then vanish never to be seen again - or at least until they have something else to sell. 50 posts on Basschat is easily achieved and even the casual basschatter will have that many post after browsing the forum for a while... But it's enough that people visiting purely to advertise thier wares will be unable to do so. Shep Ps. BurritoBass - you have posted 3,128 times so no worries about being under the 50 post requirement
Yes we understand that but some people are just happy to browse without feeling the need throw their tuppence worth in. What is wrong with having a set time that you have to be a member for, before you get to use the ebay facilitie. Or for that matter say fifty posts or 3months membership, whichever occurs the soonest. Just a thought. As a ps is this a big problem? What sort of a percentage of people are doing this?
 3. So if you join the forum but don't post but just read, then decide to use the ebay links the computers going to say "No". Doesn't seem right to me. There are people I'm sure that just aren't "Chatty Man". Still your forum your rules.
 4. I look at the cost of lessons as just being a part of the expense of wanting to be a bit of a decent player at some point. Buying a nice bass and amp was just the beginning as far as I was concerned. Also if you spend hundreds on bass eequipment why not spend a bit more on some decent tuition, whats the point of having decent equipment and not be able to use it to your full potential. Its all about challenging myself and enjoyment and the joy of having a good teacher to guide me. We both get a buzz out of every improvement I make. Hope this may make some sense. By the way I don't do alchohol, drugs or smoke.

 8. I have a Korg electronic jobby but there's loads of free apps out for the iPhone/pod if you have one. Theres something very satisfying about a mechanical tic tock but with an app you've usually always got it with you.
 9. Bought a new one last thursday, you should have put it up last week. They're a lovely bag ,nice material, great feel versatile and worth every penny. Really glad I bought it but I'd have been gladder if I'd bought this for a few quids less. C'est la vie!

 12. In 1978 my wages were about £180 per month. My house I was buying was £9000 the mortgage payments were about £60 per month.
 13.
I've been having a good long think about this. Over the last thirty years, I've been in quite a lot of guitar / bass shops. And I can only think of three where my visits have been consistently satisfying. The good ones were Music Mart in Canterbury (dec'd afaik), Musical Exchanges in Birmingham in the 80's (def dec'd) and Peter Cook's in Hanwell (though I did once watch them sell a Marshall TSL full stack to a 12 yr old newbie and his Dad). By comparison to the sh**tiest of the sh*tt*rmost, The Bass Cellar is actually quite good. My sole visit to the Bass Gallery was shrouded by serious inebriation on my part, so I cannot comment with any accuracy.
I've just come back from Peter Cook's having just purchased for myself a Fender gig bag for my Jazz and without doubt certainly the nicest of people to deal with. I'm lucky theyre quite local to me. They have a really good tech comes to the shop on Saturdays as well.
 14.
Stay on the Northern Line until Camden Town and go to The Gallery, problem sorted.
Won't have time for that but I shall definately look in Wunjos as in the past I've only ever experienced courteousy and helpfulness in there even though I've not wanted to buy at the time. One of the best shops in the area. Must say I've found Macaris to always be helpful. Past experience of the bass cellar left me feeling akin to that woman in Harry Enfield sketches of the shop that sells sh*t for stupid prices but without the laughs.
 15.
I walked out and went into Wunjos and had a good chat with the guy in there as well as trying out a 70's Fender P which did things to me that no woman could do! haha Morale of the story? I hope Bass Cellar goes bankrupt! Bass Chat should take it over and start selling there
Hope you had the courtesy to clean up after yourself. I shall be having a look around there tomorrow, got a hankering for a Jaguar.
 16.
I had one but sold it on to tarcher here on Basschat last year Love your cat shot too... I think I sold mine because it clashed with my cat! I'm all for colour co-ordinating instruments with pets
And I'm still loving it thanks. She's wearing black nylons now and looking even more gorgeous.
 17. On my iphone 1. TheiReal book+ the jazz pack. This plays the chords for you in whatever style and tempo you want eg Bossa Nova 100bpm Latin or whatever you want. You get a backing of piano bass and drumsand you can adjust the levels of each to however you want it plus transposing if you wish. If you go to the Realbook forum(just a touch on the bottom rh corner of the screen) you can easily access hundreds more tunes and playlists that contributor have put there for your delictation. These are all free by the way. 2.The Amazing Slow Downer App Does what it says on the tin plus loops etc. These apps are bloody amazing and they cost peanuts, well,a few quid actually but not very much.

 20.
Well said, love or hate Pastorius the bass has a unique place in history and this was a very kind act by Rob T
Quite agree.
 21.
Do you think you can discuss without being confrontational though?
Confrontational? Get your head out. Entwhistle was playing solos while Jaco was still in nappys. Two different bassists two different styles. Both innovative. Bass of doom....................I'll give you a tenner for it. as long as its got a case.
 22.
My Candy Apple Red CIJ Jazz with a black scratchplate.
I'think I've just fallen in love again. Car blocks/rosewood/binding, o bloody hell that is very very nice.
