Really pleased with this bass, just had a busy few weeks of gigging and it was a joy to play, last night, at Academy 3 in manchester, which is probably one of the best sounding venues I've played, it sounded great, a few poeple commented on the sound! Helped along of course with my trusty EBS rig (the BIG RIG :-) ) Tony

I will be back in the MM club, sometime next week! A Sterling will arrive, then will take a trip out for a refin in a cool shade of blue, something along the lines of sonic blue, maybe the same powder blue as on the EB classic models. The powder blue seems to work better with the maple necked basses? It will be nitro and will be having a tort pick gaurd as well! Tony

That Sonic blue is amazing, one of my fave colours, along with sea foam green! It must be a Manc' thing! Tony

My band did this just before xmas, NWR was indeed a gent, had a good chat with him before the gig and watched him jam with the drummer before sound check, great player! Have fun Tony

Monton, you never heard of Monton? To be honest a lot of poeple say "where the fook is Monton" Yeah, it's not far from Boothstown, the other side of Worsley, before you head into Salford or Eccles! Have fun Tony

One of my favourate J tracks to play and listen to, PT on bass with an AC. I have audio only of this gig on my i-pod, some great playing by Mr Turner with some great interpritations of classic Zender lines, such as this one. Other tracks from this gig are on there as well

Hi Welcome, not too far from me either (monton!) Tony

I've done a fair bit of photo work for FTJ over the last few years, I get to sit and walk about right in front of the band for the whole set. Bruce' backline bass tone is great, I should know! I'll dig some pics out this weekend if I get chance to go though the 50 gig I got of this band! Not sure what the future holds for FTJ since Rick Butler left last year, I'll speak to my man on the inside soon and update with any news Tony

Couldn't resist messaging the guy and suggesting that if Big John sold it too you around that price, the maybe he is "a robbing git in his own underpants" Tony
@sshorepunk ... whats nice shiney silvery computer keyboard you be using? ... been looking for a really low profie one like it for ages.... Allen.
It's a regular Mac keyboard, very thin and not too wide, ideal where space is limited. I used to have a PC running as well, with a switch to share monitor, keyboard and mouse, apart from the lack of right mouse button (I used keyboard shortcuts) everything worked fine. Keyboard is USB Tony

I enjoyed it, really enjoyed! Just comments back from a lot of poeple who were there, plus it did kick off a bit as well! Trying to move my 2 basses to and from the stage thru the crowd, scared the crap out of me, I didn't dare get them out when I got home! Tony

Hi Was just writing something about this on another thread and thought it was worthy of some discussion! This is regarding that odd breed, the promoter! We played a support gig with ocean colour scene last week in manchester, it was one of a handful of gigs they played prior to their UK tour which starts this week. It was in a small club called Moho. A few months back, The enemy played there and they squeezed 700 in, I heard it was too many and they wouldn't be doing that again. So the promoter aimed for 600, then i heard on the night, with tickets and guest list, it hit 790! It was great to play to such a packed venue, but if I had stumped up £15 for a ticket and had to endure tha I would have been well pissed off, it was just unpleasant. Even going for a piss was a nightmare! Also, two support bands were planned, which would have been fine as OCS had took over a lot of the back stage area, so we had a small storgage room for our kit, but three bands got booked. I heard this was agin the promoter being nervous over selling tickets, so an extra band selling even more tickets was his plan. The gig sold out as soon as the tickets came out! The logistics of moving and storing gear from three support bands was a nightmare, with gear piled up in a ridiculous manner! Yeah, it was a good night, but in my opinion it suffered due to out and out greed on the part of the promoter. I spoke to a lot of poeple who went and everyone said the same, and I know similar comments are out there on the www. Anyone else got any similar stories? Tony

Yeah, got a lot on right now, well at least up untill next weekend, then a break for some writing and recording. This particular gig was with OCS at Moho, was a great night and we played to a packed venure, which was a bit of a problem for some! Just too many poeple in there, it was hard work trying to move around, the audience suffered due to down right greed on the part of the promoter. They squeezed 700 in for the enemy a few months back and agreed it was too many, so the plan was for 600 tickets this time. But I heard they went up to 700 and the end number was 790 with the guest list. Felt sorry for those who'd stumped up for a ticket and had to endure that, it wasn't pleasant. There was also 3 support bands, should have been two, we had a tiny storage area, that would have worked for two bands, three made it a nightmare, getting gear on and off the stage was hard work as we had a short run through the crowd! Brixton Jamm on Friday with Alabama 3, then academy 3 on saturday night! Tony
