2. Excellent. Great bass player. Very underrated in my opinion. I have watched your vid too by the way, spot on it is too, I love that bassline.
 3.
Are you seriously suggesting that Fenders are the only passive jazz/precision type designs that are capable of being dynamic?
I am merely stating my opinion about fenders as that is what the thread is about. I also have a passive Yamaha (p/j pups) capable of the same 'dynamics' but we're not discussing Yamaha basses are we??? I was just agreeing with the previous post comparing Fenders to other makes. I personally get a lot of tone from where and how I play. I have owned many high end basses including custom builds and they sound great but I prefer the sound of passive pick ups. Maybe you should take the plunge and buy one!
 4.
I`ve owned a lot of high-end basses like: Modulus, Fodera, Ibanez GWB, Warwick.... but I always come back to Fender. The sound of a passive Fender Jazzbass is more usable in most settings, in contrary to the basses metioned. The best thing with a good fender is that: What you put in you get out!! Sound is shaped with your fingers, and in my opinion Fenders are much more dynamic than most of the active basses I`ve owned. Hot preamps, kills the dynamics!! If you like dynamics-buy a Fender, if you like zzziiing- buy an high end bass!
Oh, how true is that. There is sooooo much tone from how you play a fender. Its not just about plugging a playing.
 5. Listen listen and listen then listen some more through a good pair of cans. You'll be amazed at things you might have missed... They might be small but they might be really important.
 6. I'm not exactly massive but I love my jAZZ! He must have had it from here...
 7.
Decided to sell my beautiful bass for a reason that I might regret but at the moment it feels really right. This bass has been looked after (regularly waxed) and has been played and gigged a bit. I would hope that i change my mind but having two other basses I decided to get the money-maker in the market so I can buy me an acoustic upright and get me a few gigs to pay for my addiction (bass stuff really). there are no isuues whatsoever, set up and inspected by the guys at the Gallery in Camden. Ive almost figured out what I want so a cash sale would be ideal unless a cool bass is around. Bass comes with a hard case and a gig bag. flightcase is bloody heavy and for a bass this good you really want to come and see it. I live in London and happy to show you my beauty and offer you a wide selection of hot beverages and biccies. Please call if interested on 07810401377. piccies will follow.
Up for a trade? Lalkland DJ4 lake placid blue...

 9.
May I ask the obvious question? What was it you were looking for and why did these disappoint?
I didn't find them as warm as I thought. Don't get me wrong they sounded very nice and very clean, especially up the dusty end of the bass. They were fitted in a cheap bass which could have been part of the problem but the stock ones were just that little bit warmer so I had them put back in. I was going to hang on to them for a different project and probably will if they don't go.
 10. I have a nearly new set of these for sale http://www.emginc.com/products/index/177 I can photograph the actual ones if you want but they are the same. They have been fitted into a bass for about 2 weeks but they weren't what I was looking for. They are in excellent working condition but without the box. They cost me a ton. Who'll give me £50?
 11.
Craig you after another one already?
Just interested is all You can never have too many basses, my wife thinks you can but we all know different. How's my old Kingbass?
 12.
well said that man. i must say the 2008 on Fenders are particually good,i've yet to play one i don't like, enjoy your new bass.
Oh I am...

 14.
i do wish people would stop harping on about Fenders build quality, there's absolutley nothing wrong with the quality of modern MIA Fenders, they are built as good as any other mass produced instrument of the same price range, escepially the american deluxe range, the MIJ/CIJ stuff is very good & consistant too. when i bought my deluxe P bass i tried several Sandbergs & EBMMs back to back with it & i much prefered the P bass & it is as well built as any of them. my Jazz is the best Jazz i've ever played -period. my 62 reissue P is bloody gorgeous. shure some of the MIM stuff is sh*te but some of it is bloody good.the odd MIA dog may slip through the QC net,do other brands not have the same problem ? I know Fender went through some very hit or miss periods in the past,as the very worst Fender i've ever played as a 1974 Jazz bass, but the new stuff is excellent. ok i've had my rant, signed Fender fanboy.
+1 My last purchase was a New American Standard, from Soundslive so I didn't even try it. Its the dogs dangly's. I also have a 62 RI P which is beautiful to play and i will never sell it (I once said I would never own a P bass). I have a Lakland DJ4 which is also gorgeous but its different to the Fenders, slightly more modern sounding. Of all the studio work I have ever done I have only ever been 100% happy with the sound once, it was a Jap Fender Jazz. I sold that and I really wish I hadn't. I just sold a Kingbass because I grew tired of the clinical sound and found it lacked warmth when used with my original band. Its just a matter of taste, I'm sure there's a Fender out there for everyone.
 15.
I was with you until that point
They are quite comfy though
 16.
I have major GAS for a Precision bass. I am pretty much down to two. The CIJ Fender 51 Re-issue Precision in Sunburst or the MIM Fender Precision 50's Classic Re-issue in Honey blonde. I adore the look of the '51 precision but I already have 2 sunburst basses and a musicman in natural so I really don't want another sunburst. I also hate the butterscotch colour Fender do. I'm also a bit dubious about the sound out of the single pickup but until I hear it, I just won't know. As for the classic 50's precision. I adore the honey blonde colour and I have heard amazing things about this bass. My only concern is, its not the '51 which I adore the look off and worried that I will still be gassing for a 51' if I get the 50's classic precision. My other option is the Mike Dirnt but I really want a maple neck and I can't be bothered to go into changing necks about. Help me fellow basschatter. Your my only hope. I had the Sting bass. Lovely to play sounded nice looked very very nice. Then I brought a 62 RI CIJ, sold the Sting bass. I found the Sting bass very trebley (if thats a word) and the split pup 62 RI much warmer. I do think the 50's p looks nicer though. My old Sting bass is still for sale on here at the moment I think...
 17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI4sVSOQJRE This is James in Breda, Holland in 94. The skinny long haired tit with the J bass under his chin is me... Those were the days.
 18. Me and Jerry last year in Southampton. In 94 I did four shows as the bass player in a band backing James Burton too. Nice chap but very tight... Jerry on the other hand is a very nice chap.
 19. I was 37 before I had a sunburst P bass... I currently have two pairs of slippers (with my hero on, Homer S) and............a pair of Crocs!?!? Oh dear...

 21.
I don't think these will be out for a couple of months yet. I can probably get hold of a rough release date though, I'll post it here if I do.
I've found them on a couple of sites for £412 but I don't know if they're in stock. I think that sounds a good price if they're any good.
