1.
There's always someone to muddy the water, This time it could be me. For the moment, ignoring the need for lightness, are you able/have you tried turning the HFH's in one or more of the custom cabs? Balcro.
I presume you mean off? Unfortunately I can't, Might get that modified though...
 2. Is that my old Sting bass? Hello mate, hope you are happy with it. Craig
 3. I currently use an Ashdown MK 500 and two custom built cabs, 4x10 and 1x15 (eminence speakers) both with HFH. I think it sounds very good but I am looking to change to something warmer sounding and lighter. I see a lot of you are users of Mark Bass gear and I cannot find anything negative about them. Would I benefit from just changing the head unit or is the 2x10 combo any good? And what could I expect in terms of sound. I only use passive basses now and like lots of warmth. Your help & thoughts please before I part with cash...
 4. I have fronted a band for a while now as the bass player. I've done a Level 42 tribute and am now doing a Police tribute, as well as an original band before I get slated for doing the tribute thing. Strangely enough some of the Police stuff has been more difficult to master where both are concerned, try Driven To Tears for instance. Over the years I have found that it sort of feels like my brain has split into two, one for singing, one for playing. I still have to practice lots to master new songs but it gets easier as time goes on. The best advice is PRACTICE. I usually learn the bass till I know it like the back of my hand, then the lyrics in the same vain. Then stick em together. It'll still sound and feel strange at first but it will come. If you are trying to read TAB or the lyrics at the same time this makes it much harder. If you are doing original stuff just tailor your playing to the vocal line, that's what Sting did. Good luck and keep PRACTICING.
 5. Its at the back of my house. Its having a refurb I believe. There was a rumour that the owner was ploughing his money into property and was losing interest in the Rock Cafe but it does seem that isn't the case. I also heard it had changed hands? Not sure about that though.
 6.
We've been told it's 'in the back room' not upstairs and we're getting paid, so I'd say yes. Why not take a demo round and have a chat to Mick (Taffy).
Will do thanks.
 7. Cool, I'll bear that in mind when we're after a local one. Is it still upstairs and does he pay?
It's a new gaffer in the Mitre. If we can get plenty of folks through the door hopefully he'll be putting more bands on in the future. Yeaaaa! (PS: Nice choice of bass by the way)
