    Oil City do an 'Overkill' jazz bridge pickup that sounds like a Rickenbacker - That was the one I was thinking of (11k), as I'm not really into passive jazz pickups. Could probably make a set if you drop him a PM. He also wounds standard jazz pickups with more output called a 'Hardman'.

    I'd just use the Fender recommended measurements for their fretted basses. I have used it for my precision and its low enough with no buzz.
