  1. Bought some strings from waveydavy, which were dispatched to me 'pronto' and arrived safe and sound due to being securely packaged. Great, slick communication and a very smooth transaction! Will keep an eye out for Dave's stuff in the future. Thanks very much😁
  2. If any of my guitars deserve the heart button, it's this one...

  4. Jack Bruce Danelectro Longhorn
  5. I was looking at similar and went to a G&L L2500, then a Carvin SB5000 / Kiesel JB5. If you're happy to look a bit broader, I found the Peavey stuff to be good (although most are 35" scale).

  7. Thought this would have sold by now... Made alongside the Epiphone Elitist, which sell for double. Today's equivalent would be the FGN LC10.
  8. Thank you - I always used to end up Jonesin' for the Carvins when they appeared in Bass Magazine, plus all my books were by Ed Friedland (when he was endorsed). I've just put a brand new set of strings on for the next owner.
  9. Intonation is perfect with room for the saddles to move either way and no issues with balance. The pickup being nearer the bridge 'might' give it extra punch, but I can't hear it. The original DMT pickup is hot, so that option is there if you prefer.
  10. Includes... > A £550 Dean Paramount in mint condition with it's original branded faux leather case, plus £300 worth of upgrades (all the original Korean parts will be included). > A British Trace Elliot Boxer 30 in excellent condition (You could pay 2/3 times the price for something just as good) > A hand signed printed drawing of Steve Harris' band, British Lion (2024 Tour - Founder of Iron Maiden). Bass setup to Fender specs in standard EADG tuning. Specifications: Body: Two piece centre joined American alder w/ copper cavity shielding Finish: Polyurethane three tone sunburst Neck: Satin oiled flatsawn Canadian maple w/ U-profile Fingerboard: Flatsawn Canadian maple cap Frets: 22 Jumbo Scale: 34" Electronics: Lindy Fralin USA Standard w/ Bourns USA pots and Switchcraft USA jack Hardware: Gotoh Japan 201B w/ Korean clovers (same footprint as Leo Quan) Strings: D'Addario Half Rounds 40-100 Weight: 8.8lbs Pictures: https://i.imgur.com/V90WDvY.jpg https://i.imgur.com/rlro0nt.jpg Tone Clips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdL0XLNo47Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6FDuzi3ySw&t=88s Firm £495 £395 £350 £300 cash on collection from Carlisle, Cumbria. 11. Bought this after an active-only Peavey Cirrus and as a backup to my (now sold) Overwater Progress. Pop the volume control up for passive.
  12. There's a music shop in Worcester that sells MarkBass by the train station. I found them to be really poorly finished.
  13. Basswood tends to be lighter, but it's softer than Alder, so it's easier to ding.
  14. I've owned one - Great basses but the neck dive is strong, so you need a big suede strap to counteract it.
  15. I used to hang around with JJs son at university, who was an excellent drummer (and great on a night out). If you really wanted that sound, I'd be looking for an ash body. I can't remember if the pickup was made for Jon Shuker, or if Jon wound them himself, but there's plenty of aggressive options.
  16. Dean Paramount
  17. Thank you - You can have free postage
  18. I was thinking about gifting these with the basses I have for sale in the Classifieds, but wanted to see if someone would like them for their collection... Jack Bruce Canvas Print (2012 - St. Davids Hall, Cardiff) https://i.imgur.com/d1zzDsz.jpg Chris Squire CD/DVD Album (2009 - Colston Hall, Bristol) https://i.imgur.com/h1Y5txK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/i3s4Imr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/DdlVhu0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/RCZa5Oc.jpg Steve Harris Sketch Print (2024 - The Brickyard, Carlisle) https://i.imgur.com/kNqpnCh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/dVyuY7s.jpg All hand signed and collected by me in person. There's a worn Jack Bruce Canvas Print from the same tour on ebay for £175, but I'm looking for £150 for all three (plus P&P if required).
  19. You're probably looking at D'Addario Chromes for the flats. I like Rotosound Monels personally, but they're 45 - 105. I like D'Addario XLs for rounds and they're easy to find, but for heavy use I'd go Elixir Nanowebs.
