  1. Seemed important to post this
  2. But i still don't get how this 'scam' would work, unless there's a way around PayPal recharging the seller when the buyer reports a non-arrival, which I doubt, having to deal with PayPal when I had a buyer accuse me of not sending the correct item a couple of years back. Or is that what he does, he sells it and then makes out that he's been scammed "the buyer has returned a fake item", but with zero feedback that wouldn't have legs surely? Or does he just close down his bank account and hoof it? The thing is, if you're going to run a scam, there are easier fakes to sell than Wal's and harps; phones, watches, computers, cameras...... This just seems the hard way to do it! Been a long week, I'm probably missing something obvious
  3. What I don’t get is that you’d use PayPal so how does the scammer come out if it intact?
  4. Damn, Inspector Jack wins again
  5. Ha ha, fair points, but if it is a scam, its an odd one
  6. But if it’s a scam, I really don’t get the harp? And he seems to know what he’s talking about musically? And you can’t bid against yourself, it just looks like you can. Perhaps the seller has MPD, genius scammer one minute, rubbish one the next
  7. The plot thickens
  8. Mmmmm, fair point, I stand by the harp clause however. If he’s clever enough to distract attention with that, probably not foolish enough to run two scams at once?
  9. Good idea
  10. Seller has also listed a harp for sale, not the classic sign of a scammer
  11. Thanks HKH, given the quality fo glues and CNC you'd hope (assume) that there's no issue with any decent brand?
  12. Absolutely Steve, I have never played a MIJ Fender Precision that was anything other than great. I certainly can't say the same for MIA or MIM. This one looks bloody lovely
  13. Just asking, but does one-piece, two-piece or three-piece represent any substantial difference to construction quality, tone, longevity etc, or is it just aesthetics?
  14. Gotta be Westone
  15. Why, someone replaced the original PUPs that perhaps failed - wouldn't have been my first choice, but each to their own. Frankly, if I were trying to palm off a fake, I'd have put some mucky old PUPs in there and kept quiet?
  16. Am I missing something? Bids fine Poor photo, are you saying it's fake?
  17. Are you trying to record a good audio performance, or a good promo video, I get the impression you might be trying to do both but that's a big ask?
  18. Yep, guess so
  19. Well lucky you! I emailed John several times, and he even acknowledged that he’d received at least one of those emails in a thread elsewhere on this forum, but still no reply. Guess he has his favourites, but not sure what I did other than buy preamps from him and constantly promote his products here and elsewhere to earn the disrespect
  20. Singer with lyric sheets? Sorry but that’s bad enough in a rehearsal, but in a video? Also I assume you’re distancing, but even so why have the singer looking like they’re in a fire escape when drums and guitar are on a stage? I think the mix is OK to be honest, but couldn’t watch the singer more than 30 seconds. EDIT My apologies, the above was harsh, I'd had a long day and it was my emotional reaction. I agree with all of the positives above and in the post below this. Importantly, perhaps most importantly, it's a tight band, and there's not enough of those around. Good luck with it all. Chris
  21. Why is this still here? It’s one of the most iconic and playable basses out there. It’s a P-Bass with a curiously Anglo Saxon edge, albeit lighter, cooler and a whole lot rarer
  22. You're probably right, I think Mozart was in the mix somewhere
  23. ....which is the polar opposite of nearly all guitar players in my experience. The oldest rule in musicianship, it's not what you play that draws attention, it's what you don't play. The virtuoso guitar thing is characterised by too much playing and ostentatious displays of technique and not enough musicality. As Mozart (allegedly) said of Salieri, "Too many notes"
  24. Time Stand Still: Rush Emergency on Planet Earth: Jamiroquai Don't Stand So Close to Me: Police What's the Frequency Kenneth: REM
