Also Amphenol are very good.
Not come across those before. Google wasn't massively helpful at establishing a point of sale for 1/4 jack connectors, where do you normally get them?

IMHO Switchcraft are as good as Neutrik and I'd be happy with either of those.
That's just *stupid*. He clearly can't reach the lowest 'instrument' with his right hand...and that's only a 5-neck!
Maybe, but he's gigged that guitar and various other multi-necks for years; mind he rarely does more than one song before he's back to a 'normal' guitar. However, when you have his collection you are a bit spoilt for choice.

Not sure if this has been flagged up before but I came by it via another forum and it's particularly 'funky' half way through... honest. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DANkec2NY4w

Gene Simmons' bass guitar
warwickhunt replied to Annoying Twit's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Page is now deleted or otherwise unavailable. For those still looking for Gene Simmons product, you might want to try this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KISS-GENE-SIMMONS-CE..._Memorabilia_LE
Now that's odd as the sale ran to the end and went for £3600! <edit for more info> Whoever wanted it wanted it bad as they placed 9 further bids in excess of their £3600 bid... "Cetera"! -
Gene Simmons' bass guitar
warwickhunt replied to Annoying Twit's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Looking at the bidding it'll be interesting to see how this one eventually pans out. -
Hey Warwickhunt, Thanks for the concern but it's no real problem for me to make a house call to check it out .... (save for the fact that Mrs OldGit is on call and in work all weekend) Nowhere is that far in Cardiff, it's not a huge place, and meeting a fellow bass person in the area is always helpful for my depping network ....
Fair does, just thought it might make more sense waiting to see what happened with the bidding but as you say if it is on the doorstep and would be beneficial...

BACHUSS IMPRESSION 35-5 - *SOLD*
warwickhunt replied to elsharko's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Am I the only person in the world who used ebid?
I have an ebid account but not much intention of using it... as your other thread says; 'a bit shabby'! -
Sorry lads, i failed to mention, i can get that amp for £450.00
Sorry to be picky but if you are referring to the H&K 'combo' as opposed to 'amp' be sure to use the correct terminology as they are quite specific and different beasts and in different price brackets. The top of the range H&K gear is quality stuff but I tried one of their mid-priced basskick combos (300w 1x15) some time back and it was poor 'when compared to the bassbase range' (I stress that as it would be fine for some folk but not on the same par as their higher level gear). I would assume that the QC stuff sits in the upper/mid price bracket so should be decent but I'd want to try before buying.

Just out of interest are you expecting to get it for £395? Someone may well be going around to see it and they could be wasting their time... why not wait and see if you win it? If you are the winning high bidder then someone can check it out for you, if it isn't as the seller described then don't pay and neg them, if it is what it appears then pay them. I'm not trying to rain on your parade but you could be building yourself up (and potentially wasting someones time) for a fall if this bass ends up going for stupid money to someone in Europe. Just sayin'!
For what it,s worth, their six strings 'bounce' really well. They take about five throws before they really start to come apart.
Pretty tough then, as I've known Fenders and Gibsons fall apart as soon as they contact with the deck once! Was this yours means of relicing the instrument by the way... a bit radical.
Status? http://www.status-graphite.com/status/cart...ames/frame1.htm
Nope it isn't the 'Vintage PP'. More likely a fender prior to Status making him a bass.

Dressed To Kill (KISS Tribute) - London/Cardiff THIS weekend!
warwickhunt replied to cetera's topic in Gigs
Aye, our attendances range from 70 people to 300 people.... enough to create some noise but not quite 'theatre' size. Personally, I'd say to give the'Greatest Hits' a miss and go straight for 'KISS Alive' & 'KISS Alive II'
Got to agree! Not saying they didn't do anything good after 79ish but tbh I grew up. My 'growing up' remark isn't meant to be derogatory to them, as they'll always be special to me (Wembley 80 is forever burned in my mind... literally as I was pressed up against the barrier when Gene was breathing fire ). -
If you're selling your bass on ebay......
warwickhunt replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
Good point and it's worth extending to The USA; I've sold 2 Warwicks (£1000+) to The USA/Canada in the last month. Shipping the first time was £98 but I then tried Transglobal and that was cheaper (a lot cheaper if you don't need big insurance). They have import taxes into the USA but I think a lot of Americans are looking over here for stuff that isn't 'generally' available in The States (your EB/MM may not do as well as say a Status or GB etc.). -
I could watch Sheehan over and over again... in fact I have; as he's been playing the same licks and tricks since I saw/heard him with Talas. That's not a criticism, he's bloody good at what he does and what he does he does well, including all the flash showboating stuff that looks fantastic but has little affect on what he plays. For instance he could do all of that stuff on the Hey Joe clip without any need for the gymnastics and flayling arms but it wouldn't look half as cool. Don't give a t*ss for his beliefs the good thing is I've never known him use his celebrity to foist them onto anyone else. Not saying that he never has but I've not seen it reported. At the end of the day the guy is in his mid/late 50's and he can still put on a show that would stop most bassists in their tracks (agreed there are loads of others who could do just as well, inc. Pino et al), fair does to him and long may he 'entertain'.

Custom 'Project' bass... £100
OMG - it's the UK's answer to Steve Wishnevsky! Bass clefts? Is this about Warwickhunt's arse?
The way I'm going through this Christmas nosh it'll be 'cliffs' never mind 'clefts'. -
Thanks guys...... looks like Warwickhunt is advising me to eat my kabab befor playing instead of after ! I'll let you know how I get on after i've been to B&Q this morning.....
Was that B&Q or BBQ? Burger/sausage fat would work just as well.

Alternatively; liberally rub cooking fat all over your hands before playing.
I reckon I could make it work.
I assume it would have a bolt-on neck when you're finished. -
If you are interested in that one i would suggest you phone and check availability (not buy off the website). Use the phone number on the website not a branch number
... and pay using a credit card.
