Well, if you take the B2.1U as an example, it's obviously designed with home use in mind, with the USB interface etc. and when you add the extra footswitch, you can program this for bypass or tuner mute, or delay hold or whatever, but most importantly bypass. A very well designed pedal in my opinion, that you can add one cheap footswitch to, to make giggable.
for the reason I've already stated above... it isn't quite giggable with the extra footswitch... while in bypass/mute mode, pressing either of the two patch change footswitches only takes it out of bypass/mute... you CAN'T change patch while it's in bypass/mute mode...
  2.
Can't believe I missed this thread! Here's my Shuker Single Cut Bolt-On 6 >> 33" Scale White Ash Body with an Amboyna Drop Top 5 piece Maple/Wenge Neck with graphite rods Dual EMG DC pickups with Shuker designed 3 band EQ with internal mid freq control and gain It's my pride and joy! Cheers, Eude
33" scale??? I was under the impression people were going to longer scales to avoid floppy B syndrome...
  3.
It's just such a simple and great sounding bass - if you try and improve upon it, you just overcomplicate it and remove the very essence which makes it great - simplicity! Always one of my favourite basses.
It's the AK47 of basses...
  4.
Every unit I've had... Zooms, Digitechs, Boss' all require you to step on two pedals simultaneously to bypass the effect. this is simply too unreliable for live work in my experience. Sure you get it 9 times out of 10... but thats not good enough. Your thoughts / suggestions please!
As supplied, the Zoom requires both buttons to be pressed to put it into bypass mode, but if you get an extra footswitch, you can assign the footswitch to toggle bypass on/off or to mute it (press and hold for at least a second to mute). While bypassed/muted the tuner function is active. Unfortunately, you can't change patches while bypassed/muted. Pressing any footswitch takes it out of bypass/mute. (The default function of the remote footswitch in all patches is for bypass/mute)
  5.
I agree- what they are saying is 'it is like New Old Stock' rather than saying 'it IS New Old Stock'........ Imagine if they found a batch of untouched '62 Jazzes in a dusty cupboard somewhere...
I'd give my right arm for one... wait... I'd have problems playing it...

    N.O.S.

To me, it means it's unused stock that's in as new condition but was actually made some time ago... To Fender? Well: "This bass has been given our “New Old Stock” (NOS) treatment—built (from original tooling) as if bought new in its respective model year and just found today. " so N.O.S. isn't what you or I would take to mean as N.O.S. They're confusing the issue here and demeaning the real meaning of N.O.S.
  7.
Bump before it goes on ebay tonight...
PM'd
  8.
The only thing Picato have going for them is the price... about half the price of other flats... so good for sticking on the practice bass and for price conscious music students and that's about it... I wouldn't buy another set... Given the life of flats, it's a bit of a false economy, but they probably sell mostly to parents who don't know anything about Picato except that they've been asked to get flats and they're half the price of the others... that's if you can even find any flats in the shops...
OK, I retract what I said about Picato flats... I've just stuck this same set on my Squier VMJ and they are so much better than when they were on my Peavey or my Encore. So these Picatos are staying on this Squier...
  9. you're not the only one... Firefox on Linux... I'm getting the greyed out icons showing as well
  10. I've just done my number sums and come to the conclusion that I can't afford it this side of Christmas... not without selling something else first... Wish you luck... It looks a very nice Bass...
  11. arghhh... where were you three weeks ago... you could have saved me from buying a Squier VMJ...
  12. doesn't work... Audacity doesn't see the ASIO driver... http://www.audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php...Audio_Interface
Audacity and ASIO Audacity, as an open source program licensed under the GPL , is currently unable to support ASIO. This is because ASIO is a proprietary, closed source technology protected by a licensing agreement which prevents redistribution of its source code. So although Audacity is ASIO-capable (providing the user's sound device is similarly capable), ASIO support cannot be distributed in Audacity without violating either Steinberg's licence agreement (if the code was distributed), or Audacity's GPL Licence (if the code was withheld). There are persistent rumours of Steinberg opening up licensing, but without any apparent movement. Anyone who cares about this issue is invited to make their views known to Steinberg at this email address.
If you want ASIO support with Audacity, then you have to compile it in yourself.
  13.
Hey, Yeah mark in aroundabout is a legend (and coincidently one of my best mates dad... so i could haggle some money off!) All around great shop, love it in there
yes, they actually have a separate room for Basses and Bass amps etc... the other shops merely have a few feet of wall space for the basses...
  14.
f he argues, remind him the rugby is on
it's going to be a dead night... Last Saturday was poor... My daughter and her partner do a mobile bar... they were booked to a function last Saturday that had been planned before England qualified... the function was very poorly attended... they were happy though, they were on a fixed fee plus costs for stock... the organiser suffered the loss in takings...
  15. evostick, scotchgrip, bostik... any reputable contact adhesive... just make sure you apply it thinly to one side and allow it to touch-dry before putting the other bit back in place...
  16. there is a "blues" scale... (minor pent with flatted 5th added) but not all blues uses it...
  17. looks like it got attacked with a belt sander... not a real belt buckle... that's terrible... the exposed wood is too fresh...
  18. it's good... but I've abandoned watching it live... I kept getting breaks in the stream... I'll catch it tomorrow when it's in the "archive"... they've got loads of good stuff in there...
  19.
Hi guys, just got myself a zoom b2.1u off the bay,but i didnt get the cubase software that ships with this..can i download a version of this off the net or if i download Audacity, will this recognise my zoom when i connect via usb?? Thanks Craig
You can't download Cubase LE for free legally... Audacity will work, but because of licensing problems, the ASIO code can't be distributed with the downloaded version. If you want Audacity to be able to see ASIO drivers, then you have to download the source code for Audacity and compile the ASIO support in to it... I found that using the Zoom interface with Audacity suffers from a noticeable latency problem without ASIO support...
  20. Looks like they've worked out that Aberdeen isn't out of the way enough...
  21.
aye thats the one & it is a really nice bass but i'm skint so its got to go
bummer... I blew my bass budget 2 weeks ago... got a new Squier VMJ... should have waited and picked this one up off you instead for just a bit more... I still have enough money for yours, but currently it's "allocated" for if my car fails the MOT next month... any left is allocated for this winter's boat maintenance sorry I can't help you out... I'd love the bass, but daren't risk spending the money...
  22. because you can... yes, but there are practical limits to the length of the USB cable you can use... voltage drops becomes quite significant and you would not have enough voltage to drive the interface if you tried to use sensible lengths of USB cable on stage. It's all very well noodling in the bedroom with just a 1.5 meter USB cable, but you'll need at least 3 meters onstage... and do you really want a laptop onstage and all the associated latency problems in the signal chain? Not to mention having to mess around with a mouse to switch the different VST effects in and out?
  23.
You should get a Vintage Modified Squier Jazz Bass , they are awesome basses for the money
+5 awesome... even my Bass teacher's impressed, and he has custom Fenders... £250 new in the shops, should be able to get it for less online. I think there's one for sale in this forum...
  24. I'd love to try out, just so I could say I'd tried out... but I'm afraid I'd be wasting your time... thanks anyway.
