  1. World Machine, Level 42
  2. 30 days in the hole, Humble Pie.
  3. I have Delano PC 5 AL/M2 in my Jake 5 and the output is great. I like the pickup a lot, like an angry P bass.
  4. Absolutely. If you listen to a lot of country music you are unlikely to want to buy a Warwick Vampire or similar. If death metal is your bag then an Epiphone Jack Casady isn't likely to be high on your wish list. IMO that's actually another box ticked for a Precision bass as the sound and look can squeeze into most genres.

  6. Aha! this explains your wonderful past refins.
  7. Never mind the build, I'm curious about the room with its industrial raised mesh flooring!
  8. Heaven and Hell, Black Sabbath
  9. Tears of a Clown, Smokey Robinson.
  10. Red, Sammy Hagar
  11. London Calling, The Clash
  12. Deep Purple mkII also.
  13. Me - paleontologist. Just needed to dig deeper than Nik.
  14. Twice Removed From Yesterday, Robin Trower.
  15. I don't much like the Beatles but that was tantalisingly brilliant. So carefree. Even Lennon.
  16. Baby Love, The Supremes
  17. Its My Life, Bon Jovi
  18. Astonishing. Weight was the single reason I stopped looking at Yamaha BBs. I wonder how many you'd have to buy and return before finding a lightweight one again?
  19. A BB435 was 8lbs?! How unusual is this?
  20. Mississississippi (never quite know when to stop) Queen, Mountain.
  21. I was kind of forced into getting a 5er when I started playing with the Bon Jovi tribute as a few of Hugh McDonald's basslines incorporate notes below a low D. Hand on heart I prefer playing a 4 strings but do find playing across the neck on the 5er useful, especially for getting a fatter timbre to the note. So rather than chop and change basses I play the 5er all the time with the Jovi band and 4 strings with the blues trio so I get to enjoy both More opportunity for GAS, too.
  22. So we are! Didn't spot that
  23. Glad he didn't try it with anything larger than a squash. I feel we've had a marrow escape.
  24. Not necessarily, there are short scale EB-3s, too. I did a bit of reading when in the market for one recently. Plus of the course the depthless knowledge on here was invaluable. But, yes, the extra pickup at the bridge extends the tone palette. If you don't need or want that then there is less to 'go wrong' with an EB-0 Only you know that.
