Also rifle bags are sometimes a good fit as gig bags for smaller basses. I have a scoped rifle bag that is a perfect fit for a Mustang and others that are excellent for the Hohner B2A sized cricket bats. I suppose you might have to be careful if you keep Googling rifle bags, don't want Black Ops boshing in your front and back doors in a coordinated raid.

My first band morphed from a fairly dreary blues band into a pop/rock covers band, minus the keys and with a new drummer. Mrs S came up with the name 'May Contain Nuts' and that is what stuck.

My new blues/rock trio - simply answered an ad in 'Join My Band' in December last year. Went to an audition in early January to play 3 songs, ended up playing the whole set and jamming for 2 hrs Bon Jovi tribute band - something like 5 years ago I had an idle conversation with @hiram.k.hackenbacker when he mentioned that a drummer he had played with for many years, and who I had known for possibly even longer but not musically, was looking to start a rock band but Warren (=Hiram) didn't think he had time. I saw the drummer (Alan) a few weeks later and mentioned this, we decided to give it a go. I brought in a guitarist I had played with in a heavy rock covers band, Alan brought in both a singer and keys player that he knew. After a few gigs it was decided that a tribute band was the way forward, we did the Bon Jovi stuff in the set well so headed off on that path and morphed into a Bon Jovi Tribute. Which is, I must say, an absolute blast. Bands before that are ancient history

Actually for me that is the reason I started bass playing with a pick. I used to play guitar so when I started off on bass it seemed most natural. Over time I have been playing increasingly fingerstyle but still need to pick up the pick for accuracy at speed.

I'd also add old Peavey stuff into the ring - I recently got a T-Max 2x10 combo for £100 to leave at my band's rehearsal space.

Stretch and 'Why Did You Do It'. They released a couple of albums with some very good songs on them, but no more singles.

I've used them a few times and found them fine. Sometimes their prices are crazy cheap, too, so if I am on the hunt for something they are one of my first ports of call.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder - I think these are gorgeous and absolutely love the offset body and headstock. For me they add a different flavour to the usual symmetrical double cutaway hollow bodies. If Squier do throw a model into the ring I'll be having a close look and listen.

Maybe the 5er tips it over to being heavy with the wider neck and extra hardware? That said I've had 3x B2As, a B2B and a B2V over the years (kept selling them and buying again, what a prat ) and the difference in weight between them was staggering. One of the B2As weighed nearly 9lbs, the lightest only 7lbs.
