3. Interested, can trade you a Line6 Bass PODXT and controller and knock that amount off the price say?
4.
Dude, which foot controller do you have?
FBV Express.
5. I have used many many combos, but I want to take my first step into real amps. I am looking for something cheap but powerful. I play mainly metal or hard rock, but looking to branch out into whatever makes me a better bassist- but I want an amp that can give me a decent overdriven tone as well as a good clean one. Also, I currently use a POD into a PA speaker, could I buy a head and use it with the speaker, or vice versa with the POD? Thanks for your help,
6. Go for it, it looks decent, and it's only £50. Win!
7. I was looking at wireless stuff. Are the T-Bone things thomann.de do any good? I'm on a budget here, lol
8.
like those guys who wear T shirts in the middle of winter and i am happed up with 5 layers
That'll be me . I have been known to wear T-shirts on snowy days... THREAD HIJACK!
9.
Clling Mr Pirate! Are you able to arrange collection of this yet (or meet half way)? I'm feeling guilty having had Wesley for three weeks now.
I had him for five- don't worry mate.
10.
It's weird how one's experience can vary. I went into PMT Birmingham asking after a particular tuner pedal to be told by one of their more 'mature' people that they didn't stock that brand, that the brand was crap, that "only an idiot would want to buy one" and that he'd rather "step on dog sh*t than one of those". He then followed this up with the observation that "If you still want one of those, you can go somewhere else. If you want a proper fuzz pedal, you should try one of these". As you might imagine, I was a bit displeased. A couple of his mates were stood in the background having a good smirk while he delivered this peroration, so I suspect it wasn't the first time he'd gone off on one. Having reminded him it was a tuner I was after, I bollocked him savagely in front of his colleagues for a very long five minutes. As compensation for "your rudeness and stupidity" I then gouged him for a "proper" tuner pedal at 40% of their tag price - what my 'crap' choice of pedal would have cost. Swings and roundabouts.
Scary...
I'm liking the fact that nearly everyone likes a bit of dirt!! Dan
Dirt is an essential really. ATM I use a PODXT, but on it I use: Amp sim Fuzz Wah Mainly. On my own I use an auto-wah patch loads. And I have a sweep filter, but again I just play with that on my own. Live, I use just a (uncompressed) clean or gated fuzz.
12. I use the Dunlop ones, the plastic ones. Never failed me yet, but get lost easily... actually that's probably just me.

15. The new Dream Theater album is accessible for metal. Myung mainly plays root notes, but there's a lot of interesting root notes in Dream Theater's music. I suppose the earlier stuff is better for bass- that was when they were more layered.
16. Windows actually just got a few Trabens in. Dunno where from though.
17. Mick and Jim off Sh*tknot use them as well... hey, I'm subscribed to Total Guitar on youtube!
18. Hey guys, I have been using my Line6 Bass PODXT for a while now, but have decided I'm going down the "pedals" route. So if anyone wants to trade me for a bass DI box thing, MXR M-80 looks good, but if you're willing to swap a sansamp or something, great! So here are the specs: 28 amp models 22 cab models "over 50" (?) stompbox/effects modeller 4 mic models Here is the link for the Live version, like the same but with a built in foot controller. You can connect it to the internet and do all sorts of fancy stuff, Line6 still do all the support etc even though it's technically discontinued (get one before they're all gone (OMG!!!) ). I'm asking for £80 ONO for the bean and stuff that makes it work. I can also chuck in a foot controller + cable for an effect of some description (ask) or £60 ONO. So all in all: The bean itself Power supply No manual- but the internet is your friend A soft case for the bean with (!) accessory pocket. A foot controller Foot controller For only £140, good eh?
19. You get a really good crunchy/raspy drive sound with a tubescreamer IMO. If you got a bass clone or a modded one (or a modded clone for that matter ) that would probably do the trick.
20. Ok. Thanks for that. What are the pickups like?
21. So we did this one song, the first one that plays- what do you guys thinK? Can be anything constructive...

Boss GT6B HELP

If there's a switch/combination of buttons that say "Memory Mode", that's probably it.
23.
I used Status Hotwires for yonks, then tried Warwick Reds for half the money and found that they were definitely better than half as good, in fact I think they are as good. So have used them ever since. Cheap strings aren't everyones cup of char I know, but then again neither are Elixirs.
I'm using Warwick Yellows, and they seem to be doing fine. Not 100%, but I'm fairly sure they've died a bit in the ~3 months I've had them. decent strings, nowt special I feel. I'm one of those people that likes dead strings though.
