  1. Can we try and keep this on topic guys and not make it a Covid thread part 2? Thanks.
  2. Notorious for using capitals in the middle of their sentences.

    Mixing

A mate gave me a few of his songs recently and asked if I could have a go mixing them. I've done a little bit of work here and there over the years but would definitely say I'm not a professional! I am a bloke armed with a laptop, Audacity and some headphones. Anyhow, I had a go and sent him back the mixes. It seemed he genuinely liked them and said I had done a good job. He said he would keep me in mind for future if they were to do any more recordings. This has given me a real bug for mixing. I want to get better at it and have something to do during the lockdown. What pieces of equipment would you recommend to help improve my current set up?
  4. Hmm... sanding the original neck and putting on some new tuners doesn't seem so bad now. This might be more hassle than it's worth.
  5. With the pubs due to reopen in a couple of weeks, does this mean that us bass players may be once more let loose on the world? Would be great to hear live music again.
  6. Ooh - I run a Polytune into a Spark Boost and normally leave the EQ on the amp straight up. This gadget looks like a handy solution if I wanted to go in ears only.
  7. Here are some better shots for your viewing pleasure. Now... first major hiccup. The new neck is the correct width for the neck pocket. The length though is too short i.e. I will need to remove roughly 3mm at the base of the neck pocket to align the screw holes. What would be the easiest way to remove material?
  8. It's BassTheWorld - that's what they do. 😂
  9. I don't know how I missed this but Sandberg offer a VS Passive...
  10. Love these Jazz basses. Though the G&L offering has always been a little on the weighty side - not sure if this is the case with your bass? Congratulations anyway on picking up a gem.
  11. The new tuners arrived today! For the new neck I plan to attach, I purchased some Schaller BM tuners which came in this very nice box. The reason for selecting these tuners is because when I took off the tuners I wanted to replace, I found that another set of holes had already been drilled. I measured the dimensions and found that the Schaller BMs would be a perfect fit making my life a little easier. The neck that I plan to attach, now complete with the Schaller's, is a little special. Tusq XL nut, maple neck, Brazilian rosewood slab fingerboard, clay dots, 20 frets and 38mm width at the nut.
  12. Who cares? This is the better version anyway.

    Sold

Were you sold this bass knowing that it was a prototype?
  14. G&L LB-100 secondhand OR If you fancy a PJ, Yamaha BB P34 secondhand.
  15. Got me playing with that configurator again!
  16. That bass has been there for months. I think there is a reason it hasn't sold...
  17. Tasty! https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Sandberg_TT4_VW_EB.html
  18. I think you will struggle in this price bracket then I'm afraid. Good luck.
  19. If you don't mind rosewood with blocks, there is this? https://m.thomann.de/gb/gl_tribute_jb_lake_placid_blue.htm
