  1. I wasn't even aware of this company but for the price, the spec looks amazing! Would love to have a go on one of these basses soon. UK company also?
  2. I have sent JHS a message to try and clear up the confusion.
  3. Little confused on what pickups are in which Vintage basses. For example, the V4VW has the Wilkinson BP (M) WBP single coil pickup but the V4MVW has the Wilkinson WOBP single coil pickup. The only difference between these basses aside from the pup is that one has a rosewood neck, one has a maple neck.
  4. Don't worry, there will be one for sale soon.
  5. But you asked for an opinion on Sandberg. Myself and others stated that they're amazing basses. You then said I'll just go with Fender hence making it a pointless thread. Good luck with whatever bass you buy.
  6. Dodgy string? Small chance but possible.
  7. I'll admit the truss rod MAY not have to be adjusted but everything else will definitely need checking. You don't go from standard flats to TIs and expect everything to be hunky dory.
  8. All of these four steps need to be done when changing string brand, gauge or type.
  9. Also, recommendations for soldering irons online?
  10. I don't get the point of threads like these. You're basing this off sound samples online and clearly wanted the Fender more before this thread even started. 80% of the replies are saying go for the Sandberg...
  11. I guess it would be CTS solid shafts? I have grub screw knobs and would be using the classic VVT configuration.
  12. Do the pot shafts take push on or grub screw knobs?
  13. Do the pot shafts take push on or grub screw knobs?
  14. Not going to actually try one... in a shop?
  15. If that's the case then I might be keeping them in!
  16. https://www.emgpickups.com/hex-driver.html This seems like a great little tool for the gigbag but it seems they don't sell them over here. Does anyone know of an equivalent that is readily available?
  17. Cheers guys. 3 terminals for the neck pup, bridge pup and ground wire seems like an easy job for a novice like me!
  18. Screw terminals for the pups? Ah, okay. What about the bridge grounding wire?
  19. Can anyone tell me if the control knobs used on Vintage basses are push on versions or if they have a grub screw?
  20. I'm looking at upgrading the control plate for my Jazz but want to keep the original pickups. If I use a solderless control plate, how would the existing (wired) pickups attach to the plate?
