  1. I reckon you could get away with that. I use a 105 gauge for drop D and it sounds good.
  2. I have the full sized version and mine started doing this after a few years of use, mainly on the E string on a passive bass.
  3. Very true this. I bought my CV Jazz for £200 secondhand but sold it for £300.
  4. I check my basses over every month to make sure they're ship shape. Has a result, I've only ever bought one bass to gigs in the 18 years I've been playing live. That being said, I've never even broke a string.
  5. My God man... play softer so we can hear the notes.
  6. Who could forget Doug Wimbish?
  7. Has anyone played one of the new Lionel's yet?
  8. If you do go for the pre cut Graphtech option, just be aware that you'll still have to do some filing once you have received and installed it.
  9. Pantera, one of the greatest metal bands of all time? FFDP I will admit are poo.
  10. If that's the case then I would probably recommend a Spector. This one looks like a beast: https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Spector_Forte_4.html
  11. What is modern? Scooped? Woody? I'm surprised you cannot get a modern tone from the arsenal you already have.
  12. Definitely a shielding issue. Get some copper tape underneath your pickups and in your control cavity.
  13. Matamp GT200 and the Hiwatt DR201 are the best two valve heads I've used. Mesa Subway WD800 is worth looking at for something lighter.
  14. How would they know it's Brazilian rosewood though? You could say it's a different type of wood... they would have no way to prove it.
  15. Nice! See, how did you get your pre to sound so tame?
  16. You get my post of the day. Long time since I have genuinely laughed out loud from a post on here.
