I use a six and a four for all gigs. Depends on the numbers. If I buy a new bass, it's either a replacement or something I need that I don't have (ie, a fretless) Only ones I don't gig are a couple of cheapies that are in different rooms of the house to noodle on.

Worst one for me, I'd rather go deaf, Chicken Shack version.
for me its a toss up between Walking on sunshine and Funky Music. Its 3 1/2 mins of pure hell for me as i know how the rhythm goes to both but cant play it due to my drummer playing every rhythm but the correct one. Way too much shuffle and ghost strokes.
How weird is that???? our drummer plays with your band too? and I had no idea?

Vigier Arpege 4. Ohsc. As-new. £Sold - pending
leschirons replied to eubassix's topic in Basses For Sale
Apologies to eubassix for what's turning out to be a hijacked thread re Patrice Vigier but 3 years ago when a friend and guitarist sadly passed away over here, Patrice wrote a very touching and personal poem and sent it to his widow as I'd told him that he'd wanted to take a look around the factory but couldn't manage the trip due to his illness. He asked to be kept informed of developments and later sent the poem. A lovely man. On a lighter note, I had a Vigier bass and they are fantastic. Stayed in tune for about 4 years (allowing for string changes) -
Roland Td-3kv
leschirons replied to fragility's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
Hi, I've got a Roland TD-3KV electronic drum kit for sale. It's essentially this kit: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/2928...d-td-3kw-p.html The only difference is that the link is for the TD-3KV +P...I'm not sure what the +P part is but I can't seem to spot any difference from the listed specs. It'd basically brand new, literally just been used the once (bought to hold band practices at our house almost immediately before my last band's demise). It's all boxed, with instructions etc. Pics here http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b398/fra...oland%20TD-3KV/ It's about to go on ebay, but worth a shot on here first. I'm looking for £400 (open to offers) Cheers,
I think the "+P" refers to the extra bass drum pedal to make it double kick kit. -

If you'd have posted this question in 1976, you would have got a totally different set of answers. Must be my age. -

Just picked up a nice hardcase from Will. Great easy deal, very patient. Highly recommended. (He doesn't even charge you rent when you don't pick it up for 3 months)

Just met up with Colin (Hamster) to buy a Tele from him. Thoroughly nice guy and a warm welcome. Great easy deal. Highly recommended.
Moving this on as the Mrs is getting a bit arsey about the amount of basses hanging around the place. It's in good condition and is a good player IMHO. I've fitted Warwick straplocks, but will include the originals and will also include a basic, but functional, Stagg padded gigbag. Here's a link to the features of the bass. http://www.gak.co.uk/en/vintage-v900-active-bass/7258 Looking for £75 (collection/meet up only at this point) or may consider trades or p/x on an Encore P Bass or an EHX Neo Clone or Soul Preacher pedal.
So, the Mrs has got the hump with you for having too many basses and you're willing to PX for another bass. Love your style. Best of luck. (with and sale AND the explaining to your Mrs)

Bravewood 64 Style J-bass for sale
leschirons replied to lamibosh's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Hi Max, It's best if you put the price on here too rather than just a link to Ebay. -
Okay my frend, this final offer for your wonderful lovely bass. You get, Talking piano, dancing bear, my sister (she no Kylie Minogee, but she also not Pat Butcher from your East-endys) And... my prized record disc, given to me by actual singer Mark Walnut or something and his friend, known as "the other one"
Very tidy Vintage (the brand, not the age!) V940f bubinga fretless. These are a budget brand, but are widely known as a quality make for the price, and a great way to get a start on an unlined fretless. There is a slight mark on the back, and a little wear on the neck where I have recently used rounds (I prefer the growl!), neither of which will effect the sound or playability... It has P/J Wilkinson Pickups, with an active EQ, that I have always found versatile and powerful. The controls are Volume / Blend / Bass (Boost / Cut) / Treble (Boost / Cut). I'm selling because it really doesn't get much use, and I'm trying to focus the collection a little more about quality not quantity, and fretless just doesn't come up very often! I'm open to offers, but would like £140, or would consider a swap for a East J-Retro preamp... I've not looked into courier prices (maybe £25?!), but will be willing for anyone to pick-up or meet somewhere in the Bristol area. I've attached some pics, so please have a look and get back to me with any questions! Thanks
Damn you sir, I recently bought one of these from Bubinga5 to de-fret. Spent two weeks on it already and it's not finished yet. See, I should be more patient. However, for any interested parties, great, playable bass for hardly any money. Best of luck with the sale type bump.

Son of a preacher man for me. Listen to it as background music and you think not much is going on. How wrong can you be? I'll never nail it properly because I hear something different every time I listen to it.
Dude are you serious? The first post blatantly say "I made a Boo Boo" so if he made it, Id say its a copy - dont be drawn in by the hype mate. (or am i just trying to scare off other potential buyers thereby leaving the way clear for myself?? mwahahahwaHWAHAHA etc etc)
If he's made the only Boo Boo, then it's not a copy. In fact, he may be the original manufacturer of "the" Boo Boo so then he would have every right to make as many as he wants, quite legally. For our own peace of mind, I would suggest that we all PM the seller to clarify this.

Michael Landau or Christophe Godin.

Single most important thing you've been taught?
leschirons replied to theosd's topic in General Discussion
When I started playing drums at 16, an old guy who played trumpet, two doors down the road, told me to always be the worst one in the band (in your own opinion) That way you'll improve your playing faster if you want to stay. -
Good day to you all. Due to my wish to own some better guitars and have a little more space in my office I have decided to downsize some of my gear that I have. For sale will be my Engl Powerball amp head, Peavy 5150 cab, Engl Z-5 footswitch, Line 6 POD V2.0 and Line 6 Floorboard to go with it. I am open to reasonable offers and would be willing within reson to deliver in person for the larger items or post the smaller ones. I currently have the amp, cab and footswitch on eBay at the minute but in the hope that I am not ripped off (as i paid a lot of moey for these items) I thought I would post them on more specific message boards as well. Cheers guys. I have attached some images but can put more on if requested
You'll need to state a price as per the forum rules.

Just bought a bass from Xzantes (Kris) Very helpfull guy who really put himself out to complete the deal which involed foriegn and UK bank transfers, him travelling by train with the bass, my son meeting him in a McDonalds etc. Nice guy. Easy to deal with and very, very fair.
